WHILE OUT PLAYING IN THE BLIZZARD LAST WEEK WE RAN INTO A NEW PROBLEM WITH MY FRIENDS 2006SUN-L 250. HE SPUN INTO A SNOW BANK AND AFTERWARDS COULD NOT GET THE WHEELS SPINNING. THE WHOLE BACK HALF OF THE CVT CASTING HAD CRACKED RIGHT OFF. AT FIRST I THOUGHT HE MUST OF HIT A CURB, BUT I COULD NOT FIND ANY SIGN OF IMPACT ON THE CASTING. WHEN I SPOKE WITH DAVE(AWESOME BUGGYS) HE SAID IT WAS A SOMEWHAT COMMON PROBLEM WITH THESE BUGGYS. BUT I HAVE PROBABLY TWICE THE AMOUNT OF HARD MILES AS MY FRIEND ON MY SUNL 250 AND IT HASNT HAPPENED TO ME YET. IVE BEEN LOOKING FOR REASONS WHY I THINK THIS MIGHT OF HAPPENED TO HIS AND NOT MINE YET AND I CAN ONLY THINK OF THREE THINGS. 1.I HAVE CONSIDERABLY STRENGTHENED THE FRONT MOTOR MOUNTS AND FRAME AROUND IT 2. THE NUT ON THE LOWER PART OF THE CHAIN TENSIONER BOLT WAS LOOSE WHICH ALOWED THE TRANNY TO SLAM UP AND DOWN. 3. MAYBE ITS JUST LUCK...I KNOW ALL THE OTHER 250'S USE THE SAME MOTOR, ANYONE KNOW IF THIS IS JUST A SUN-L THING OR HAS IT HAPPENED TO ANY OTHER BUGGYS ANYBODY KNOWS OF?....................................DAVE

something similar stared happening to my blade 150.i was running with out the cvt cover on it and i started noticing two cracks (top and bottom) forming forward of the rear gear box.both angling back in the direction of the axle, tried to put the cvt cover back on and it would not fit.the cvt platform seemed to be warp.thats when i found the cracks.in short i gues the cover adds some structural integraty to the over all system found some longer bolts for the back cove mounting holes.pulled it back together and took it to a frind to weld.well a twelve pack of hienken and alittle tungstan wellding later was back on the road.also noticed that because of this crack the support mount on the rear of the cvt that is used to tighten the chain was loose and coming off.realighened everything and all seems good at the moment.

yes the reason i had mine off was because it was eating beltswith it on,to much heat build up and melted them.it was also hard to start and ran lean i was running a 150 jet and it was still lean.finaly read on here about the valves ajustment.now i ajusted them when i put in the cam,but sure enough the intake was dead solid.reajusted and started on the first pop.hope this fixes the heat issue.will see this summer.but because of all the either i was using to start it before ruined the rings and was filling up the oil and checking the gas.replaced rings and everything seems hunkydory at the moment.this weekend will be the big test going riding at gen.sams in huntsville this sunday.guess will see.bring tow strap thought.i'm optomistic not crazy.
