hello gentleman, my 2008 hammerhead 150 GT will shift into reverse but won't shift from reverse to forward. the cable is fine, the planetary gears look fine there is just a hair of play (1/32-1/16") there is no corrosion on the stem of the fork. i streched the spring that pushes the fork out. if i shut it off and push it forward it pops out & into forwardf again. i'm at a loss. has anyone had this problem? any suggestions?? thanks, JT i bought it in may of 08' and have maybe 40-50hrs on it.

what about grease is there plenty of that.also are the bearings good inside, any burrs on output or any thing that has to slide when the planetarys are pull away from the big gear. to cause it to hang when taking pressure away from spring on shifting fork.
hope that come out wright.

pud the shift fork is smooth the spring rides nice over it. there was way to much grease in there. i packed it when i was at the kruse control kompound last month. i was told it needed to be lightly greased so i removed the excess. i didn't feel anything that didn't feel right.
"E" which 2 screws are you refering to on the housing? thanks guys i really appreciate the help. JT

ok myself i'm just not sure whats happening.i understand about over greasing but i keep grease pumped in mine all the time and seems to shift better and run cooler. i can actually hear mine make a clunk when it goes back into forward and not from idling to fast just gears hooking up.i also even put grease in the tube that the rod part of shifting fork rides in.i guess i have the old style black gearbox though and if memory is wright same one racemybuick has on his buggy.the chrome looking shifting yoke cover is held on by two set screws.
is this the type gearbox you have and is there any way the shifting yoke cover could be causing the problem. i'm like BIGE something hanging some where but just not sure where sorry couldn't be any more help.
