I've finally got the buggy running great! (All my problems and posts and all it was, was the Ign. Coil!) Anyways when turning doing hard turns left or right on asphalt, I notice that the buggy slows down alot as if im applying the breaks Also I noticed the rear has its own break resevoir and ther rears dont even work? Neither does the hand brake. When I had it over at Fast Freddy's, Nick said that the rear brakes never really worked but would try to adjust them, still no luck.
So is this a problem only with the 2005 models? Also have any of you guys modify your brakes to make them work better?

Hi, i have a 2007, the reservoir behind the poassenger side is for the emergency brake. I would pressure bleed the brakes,be sure none of the calipers are not frooze up. If you look behind the master cylinder you will see two rods with jamb nuts. You can increase pressure to the front or rear by adjusting the nuts. You will have to get all four wheels off the ground. Yes quite well, There's an adjustment on the handle towards the bottom. Make sure the pads have friction material on them, at least 1/8 inches. I don't like the hand brake it only stops one wheel. Ghost

I have the same problem on my 2006 650 Sand Viper. The rears didn't seem to work, the front brakes lock well before the rear. I bled the brakes and adjusted the rods on the master cylinder. I have the rear MC rod extended all the way. It seems a bit better, but the fronts still lock before the rear. I need to play with it some more.

I worked on bleeding the brakes on the rear and tell you what, there is no pressure while going through the bleed process. Im getting clean fluid through but after pumping and holding, when I release the nipple, the fluid just dribbles out. I've taken the caliper off and cleaned in the best I could since their not rebuildable and its not binding. So this tells me that the MC is not pushing enough fluid through to push the disc out!! I'll work on the adjusting rod, but Im gonna look into replacing the MC asap.

Hi jbl, sounds like the master to me,when you install the new master, you should pressure bleed those brakes, instead of pumping them works a lot better. The emergency brake before you adjust it oil the cable, ive read about a few guys breaking the cable because it was dry and finally just failed.Ghost

Hi jbl,i would pull the brake line off the caliper and make sure its not plugged. Pull the bleeder and blow air through the caliper make shure its not plugged. If i have to replace a caliper,i would go with wilwood. Look at jbquadriders post in 450 aftermarket. Sweet looks like a lot better way to go,i like that their twin piston, plus you could do just the rears to get started. I don't know what the joyner calipers cost, but i bet the wilwoods aren't that much more. Ghost
