Firstly... This appears to be a CF Moto CN250 244cc Liquid Cooled vertical engine. Picture below. It appears by the Parts Catalogue that this is a 172mm. 172mm is stamped on the rear of the housing. *************************************** scootermike at Scootertronics lists the following as matches for this: ..... ..... ..... ..... ..... ...... Hammerhead Kinroad Carts Use this engine Jonway; JMStar; Avanti; Roketa; CF Moto. They claim to have experienced great results from the CN250 Engine. It has proven to be stable platform for scooters and go carts from many manufactures like CF Moto and Hammerhead which both use this engine which has its roots in the Honda Helix in the 1980s. Scooters from Tank and Roketa use this engine as well as the go carts.

:-B :-B :-B :-B This seems to be a correct wiring diagram. I used it to trace the electrical and components seemed to be in place. The link below sends you to MY MySpace which is GroovieGargoyle. Link is to a larger image.

My 250-2A has F/N/R trans. Couldn't find any tags on it. Not sure what foolshness was inflicted upon it before I got it. It's been cobbled in a few places. From what I understand between 3 owners it has less than 100 hours since new. ...Below are a few engine and parts pics...

(*) Ok, Everything above seems to be technically correct. We placed some aftermarket goodies on the 250-2A courtesy KidNMe Motorsports. These are pictured below. Shortie Clutch coupled in this pic with the Moto Blue Torque Spring, (1500rpm), and Uni Air Cleaner. Differences in performance were negligable. These mods are just the tip O' the iceberg. Will be joined by some proper additions as they come. **If you need to remove the clutch you have to unbolt the engine mounts to LIFT the engine**. I believe KidNMe will be mentioning that in their tech videos which were also filmed this weekend. More to come!! *By the way* My 250-2A was running poorly prior to the meeting. It turns out a blade of lawn clippings had made it's way into a jet because there was no fuel filter on this engine. Possibly a previous owner's indescretion or a factory decision. GET ONE!! We lost a few weeks of riding because we overlooked that little inexpensive part. Ahhh... What to do next??

With KidNMe, dz and bige on the assist the following determination was made: It appears to be the Honda clone. We have treated the UNI filter since the picture. Tom made sure and rubbed in the need to do that and even made me put the warning sticker in my pocket, LOL... Simple oil and cleaner kit for UNI was $15-ish. ... These should have a bracket to the air cleaner side intake to cease or dampen vibration damage to the intake. We have a bracket on it but the previous owner had none during the time he owned it. ...The previous two owners abused it without making sure it was not dropping nutz and bolts. This thing looses fasteners like a hardware store with a hole in it. I have been told buggies keep Loc-tite in business, LOL... (*) ChuckOrlando contributes in a later post: "Use Red loctite on every thing you dont need to remove much. Use blue on the items that need unbolting. Like your motor mounts. "

dz noted in my thread at the NorthEast Buggy site: "Unfortunately the SunL's really keep people busy in general, they tend to have lesser standards than any other manufacturer." http://northeastbuggy.com/phpbb/viewtop ... 003#p13003 (*) We did notice many of the welds appear rather substandard. I will probably fix that at some point soon. I have heard a mix of reliability issues. So far we have had mostly ignition troubles and noticed the welds. Clearences for parts removal and replacement are slim and many simple procedures tend to require unbolting the engine mounts. Fasteners fall out often which does open the opportunity for in trail failures. I had a ball joint nut fall off and the ball joint seperated from the A-arm while in motion. Fortunately there was little damage and repair was quick. Obvious potential for disaster. Fuel tank fastener nuts should be replaced with a locking type or double nutted as well. In less than 100 miles we have had to replace them all. This unit should be checked often for loose and missing items...
