Welcome aboard Buggyman! This Bash is open to all the buggynuts out there. It's just one big meet and greet from buggy owners around the country. Each year it gets bigger and bigger so please feel free to join us.

Here is a link to the park site and camping area. http://www.mostateparks.com/stjoe/camp1.htm#

To explain the whole history of the event and the man behind it all would make this post to long to read.

There is trail riding, some drag racing and most likely there will be even more fun events this year for the whole family.

Bring the wife and kids if ya got'em.

I'm new to this site and would like to know about the buggy bash. Is it open to everyone or is it a private thing? I don't mean to sound ignorant but I guess being new here I am. Would anyone explain some things for me ex: the buggy bash??? Where??? When???? What are the activities?? etc?

Yes, this is open to anyone and everyone. If you've never been on a group ride or get together, I can promise that you'll love it. As Vinny indicated.

If you want to know what it's about, read through some of the posts of the previous years National and Northeast Bashes. Here's a shortcut to that group.. http://www.buggynews.com/viewforum.php?f=69

Don't hesistate to keep asking questions... We'd love to have you there.

Hey new guy here. I just read through this entire thread. St Joe will work for me. I'm going to try and get it set up. I noticed no one mentioned the Badlands in Indiana. Attica I think. It's a little more expensive and the facilities aren't as good as they are at St Joe. I like the riding there a lot better. Lots of hills, and trails. I think it was a rock quarry or something. Lots of sand and peagravel hills. I think it's like 700 acres. They have a shop that sells parts and there is also a Suzuki dealership right before the entrance to the park. Camp ground right at the entrance with facilities. They have water and electricity but last time I was there it was pretty much a field with some roads set up for the campsites. It's right at the edge of town with places to eat and all that. Might be something to consider later.

Me and a friend might make it down, still up in the air yet. How are the spots set up? Just like long driveways?

I am guessing you are refering to the parking areas in the campsite? If so the answer is yes ,they are asphalt, some are back-in some are pull through. Some are full service(electric, water, etc) Some are just basic sites. If you are planning to attend, and camp...I suggest you make your reservation soon,as these campsites fill up FAST!

Hey Josh, we'd love to get a caravan of NEBA members driving to the National Bash. We'll get things organized in this regard over on the NEBA website. If you need to you can let your mom know that I'll be going. If she has any questions have her call me....

Is this the "official" name of the buggy bash,or have we decided on a different one? I've noticed "national",and memorial in a few posts, and was just curious.

I think we should have 1 title and just add the new year to each. I.E. "THE STEVE HOPKINS, BUGGY-NEWS.COM ANNUAL BUGGY-BASH"
20_ _

Maybe add the number of each bash....or not. Maybe without the .com. But it must definately have Steve's name and of course the Buggynews name.
This is my suggestion,if anyone has a better idea post it and I think we should vote on it. That way every year from now on people will have to only look at one thread for any,and all info on future bashes.

Just a thought

Mike

Mike,

I agree, we should set with one name.
I find myself refering to it as the National Bash for short in some conversations and as the Steve Hopkins 4th Annual BuggyNews National Buggy Bash in others... It's a long title so I tend to cut it down sometimes for simplicity. I know I shouldn't be so lazy.

While keeping things in one thread would work, it gets really hard to go through all the pages for one year let alone year-after-year.
