I'd like to get the conversations going on the 2009 Buggy Bash. It's early, however many of us will be setting our vacation schedules soon and if we get the details worked out now, we can start saving for the trip...

1) Do we want to have it at St. Joe's again?
    a) Big Park, lot's of room
    b) Camping areas are divided, but overall layout isn't that bad..
    c) Nice showers, good staff, great prices
2) If not, what other parks are available?
    a) North Carolina
    b) Georgia
    c) Tennessee
3) When do you want to have it?
    a) Typically held in June.
    b) June 26, 27, 28
    c) 4th of July weekend

Check your calanders, post information about other park options, post info/comments about driving distances, duration of stay, etc...

Adam and I drove 22 hours each way last year, and I'd go back to St. Joe's in a heartbeat. Of course we want to have it in a location that is convient for the majority of us.

I wouldn't mind someplace new. I've never been Georgia but I would like to go sometime. I REALLY liked St. Joe for all the reasons already listed.

I'm planning on making next year's bash into a family vacation. I'll probably get there sooner than I did this year. Like Funnyman said, it would be nice to go to a place that has things for family members that may not want to go on the trails.

One thought about the 'when'. I would strongly suggest avoiding a holiday weekend. I usually have plans with the family on the 4th. Besides, the parks tend to be even more crowded on the holidays - just my 2 cents.

I agree. What weekend dates would be good?

Durham town G.A. would definitely be an excellent place to hold the bash. It has everything we could ask for. The staff at DT would be thrilled to have us. No one would regret the DT experience but it would add a lot of travel time for the northern and western folks. As much as I would like to see the bash happen at DT, I think some place more north or centrally located would give more folks the opportunity to attend. St. Joes doubles my drive time but I feel the location is better for the membership as a whole -IMO

DT would be a great place to hold the bash. i would also like to suggest, Black Mtn Park in Evarts Ky(southeast part of state). you can ride your buggys thru town also.
Royal Blue in Lafollate, Tn. hundreds of miles of trails.
Brimstone Recreation, Huntsville, Tn. same for the trails.
Callantee ATV Park, Mountain City, Tn. 5000 acres with 120+ miles of trails.
i'd be glad to help get information on these places if needed.

Please do...
What I'd prefer to see is that you update the "Riding Places We've Found" and then provide links to this thread.

If its farther than St. Joes for me, I won't make it, I'd
spend more time on the highway than at the park.
