this is not my buggy it is a friends titan style buggy.i didn't get any pictures to show.i don't drive this buggy so i just went on how he explained to me what was happening.loss of power on hills motor running fine.i put sliders, torque spring and new belt in it for him this time last year. when i pulled it down i found that the out side grease seal of movable drive face was off riding on drive pulley collar (pin) ok then when i went to pull pin out it was tight in variator and the sleeve or bushing inside of variator came out to.also he had to broken 2 broken ramp plate guides. am i thinking this out wright the sleeve or bushing in the variator should have not come out like that. it went back in tight but you still can take it out by hand,it had to be working back and forth to push the seal out. what are your thoughts on this pud

I have not seen the bushing come out before. I would say since the guides were broken and the bushing has came out, it might be better to replace the variator.
see if you can get some pics

ok geekster on the engine, i was just going by what was painted or stamped on the cover that goes over ramp plate,it said cfmoto.it is the original variator on this engine.
thanks for the info BIGE, i figured that would be the answer i would get.i looked at a diagram on this variator and it didn't show that this bushing came out. i wish i had taken my camera the buggy was at his house.i put it back to together and used some guides he had left over from a roller to slider change.i wasn't liking what i done but he wanted it to take to the mountains for hunting season.he was supposed to bring it to me 3 months ago so i could look at it for him.nothing like waiting until the last minute any parts like that around here we have to order them. i do think the buggy plan is scrapped now to due to around 18'' of snow where he was heading.i will try to get some pictures of this the next time i hook up with him. also i will pass the info along to him, you wouldn't happened to have a good used stock variator laying around your shop would you.

I have seen this happen twice on CN 250 variators.[/quote]
ric what do you think caused this, just a flaw in variator or lack of grease in bushing to let variator work smoothly.there was still a little grease in bushing but the bushing did act like it was trying to hang up on pin.
BIGE i sent you a pm
thanks guys for your thoughts pud
