Hey , I have been going round and round on what is the best solution on getting more torque and HP out of 800CC at speed just off Idle up to 1500 RPMs this is where most of our riding is done, tight trails and hill climbs. Our terrain is too rough to ride some spots to ride at WOT even in 1st gear. So I need to be able to pick up from say 1000 to 1200 rpms on uphill climbs without choking down. I have the lower ratio tranny. I have thought about a turbo, but that comes in at 2000 rpms or so and would not really help. But I am trying find out if Shaving the heads or a supercharger, which is better for low end torque and bottom end power? Any ideas? If shaving the head how much 20, 30, 40 thousandths? Would you need strong head bolts? What compression ratio would this be and what is it stock? Supercharger how soon does it start helping rpm wise? how much torque and hp would be added? I assume the ECU would need to be remapped? not sure. Yes I am full of questions. Asking the dealer has proven to be a waste of time. But BN ROCKS!!

When I had the higher gears, I restricted the exhaust and retarded the timing. It ran much better at lower speeds and for climbing.
I now have the lower range transmission, but am still debating opening it back up...The top end is not as good, but I like the low end.
Mick would be the one to talk to concerning the shaved head and reground cam...I believe he picked up alot of low end. He posted the dyno a while back, try doing a search.
