Just wanted to give an update on my kart that I bought from Killer Motorsports in November.

First off, the SSR Motorsports kart is a piece of dirty diaper. My kart was put together and I had about 2 hours on it, when I began having a long list of problems. The first to start it all off, I noticed that the right front brake caliper was leaking.

A tear down revealed that both pistons in this caliper were rusted, and in very bad condition. The caliper leaked until I could get it replaced. Which by the way, they didn't replace it, because by the time I got it torn down and the problem found, the 30 day warranty was up. $75.00 later, I got a new caliper.

Then the copper hydralic clutch line started to leak. I had to go buy a tool to reflare the end of the line and re-install.

After approxiamtely 12 hours of use, the copper hydralic clutch line completely failed, and it developed a crack. I had to replace the entire line with a steel line that I got from my local auto parts store.

I replaced the copper brake lines that the factory installed with steel ones, so that I wouldn't have the same problem with the brakes.

I cannot get the carburator adjusted out so that it will idle properly, so I am about to tear that down.

The CV joint boots have leaked since I got it. I am going to have them replaced soon.

I would suggest that you DO NOT buy a chinese made or built kart, for any price. They are poorly made, and built with cheap parts. The parts are expensive to replace. They sell you a cheap kart, and then gouge you on the replacement parts.

The brake reservior rubber gaskets were removed so that I could put fresh brake fluid in. While they were out, they swelled and curled up, and are no longer useable. When I called today to get them replaced, two small rubber gaskewere $25.00, plus another $10.00 to ship them.

I hope I get the opprtunity some day to meet up with someone who puts these together, so that I can punch one of them in the face.

darn dude that sucks.... I hate to hear another GOKA victim. Man I must be darn lucky... I have had my Roketa 800cc for almost 3 years and I havent had to replace a single chinese part on the engine, not even the chinese plug wires. And I wail on the cart very hard, always doing giant 40+ mph drifts over very rough roads. Ive broken a front spindle in half at the thickest point and I have cracked a rear trailing arm also from sheer abuse, but it took almost 2 years.. Drove it through countless giant mud puddles (it feels just like the roller coaster going into the water at an amusement park, your blinded by a massive wave of water!!) and left it out in the rain for months (under a tarp). When I went to start it after sitting that long the gas had turned into jelly in the carb. well some carb cleaner, an air compressor, and 20 mins later and I was ripping it up and down the road again. In fact that was right before I took it on a 20 mile journey, and it pulled thru faithfully.
It hasnt been all fun and games tho, given the 3pt axles did blow up, the alt bracket was too low, the steering rods were too long and needed cutting, the cv boots suck. goes to show that each cart is a different story, but yeah generally the boards consensus is dont buy a Roketa/GOKA made cart, more often than not people regret doing so. Hate to say this but you should have done what some others said and get a used Joyner. better (and sometimes cheaper) than a new GOKA anyday and probably has had most if not all the issues dealt with by the previous owner.

did you get some impression that these things dont need repairs? I dont think you can get the impression that these things are made by honda...

New does not mean working by any means.

I bought my buggy used, 1,300 under the new price and that is because i got on this board and found out, i would neet to put 600-700 into them to get them working right.

People buy what they want, but the reason there is a trusted dealer network is because we trust these guys with our $$$.

Man 800cc anything is going to be a sweet machine, once you get the bug worked out.

I noticed there are three break in periods.

1 - when you first get it assembled and find out what is wrong, like what the heck was this chinaman thinking of??

2 - After 3 months of hard use, where you break what was poorly designed to begin with, automakers have recalls we have buggynews, i had 11mm ball joints...yes they snapped, yess BigE had the correct replacement

3 - 6 months when you go...man if i could only ....(go faster, climb harder, spin tires, see at night, have a turbo, have nitro etc)

Plus all the work you are putting into your cart now, just will pay off in the long run, when you ram into a tree and break something or try that jump or even worse let a friend borrow it.

If you look at the poll it says buy a Joyner. If you had many of the problem you list wouldnt be problems.

Here's my experience with my 800cc Roketa. Before I made the decision to buy one I read almost all of the 450cc above buggy section. Joyner's were out of my price range even used. By nature anything I buy new or used i seem to upgrade and modify. My mindset with this buggy was to buy a beater buggy and add all the goodies to it. I paid 2k for a buggy in pretty bad shape and added a turbo, intercooler, new tires, seats, 4 pt harness etc etc. Pretty much built it from the ground up. I'm prolly about 2 grand above what a new buggy would cost but pretty everything is upgraded. I've even got new fox 2.0 coilover shocks going on them but need to relocate my shock mounts to fit them properly. Here's the thread on what I did 800cc-buggy-ressurection-t20757.html. If you can stick with it and work out the bugs out it'll be worth it. But I also understand your frustration when buying something new and not getting what you paid for......my humble .02 cents ....Alex

I know I should have bought a Joyner, but it just wasn't an option for me, too expensive. And truth be told, I like to work on and modify, but I do not like to be gouged on parts. I was mainly venting above. I have put the kart though its paces, and done some stuff with the kart that tested its ability, and it did well. But again, I am a little upset right now because it is sitting in my garage, and I cant use it because I am having trouble finding a $3.00 rubber gasket.

If anyone can help, I need three of these. They are the brake reservior gasket (two fo them), and the clutch reservior gasket (one of them, same as brake).
