yep thats right. might be me but in the secound picture the hose that is connected to the intake looks like there is a split in it. what are the wires that are not connected for?

No split. It has a funny looped clamp and there is writing there. I've been covering every inch with starting fluid everytime I put the thing back together to be sure there are no leaks.
Those wires are my tail light. No brake light, just tail. I just unplugged them the other day for 2 reasons. The tail light wasn't working and it was easier to unplug the wires and put my tester on there to be sure I had power than opening up the light. Bulb must be burnt out. Also since there is like 3' of extra wire I tucked it up out of my way while I was tearing this thing apart every 30 minutes.
I would put everything back to stock except the exhaust (since you don't have a welder). Put on the stock air box and everything else. Popping on de-accelerating could be a lean issue. Try to establish a base line with all stock parts, then swap out one thing at a time and see when the issue reoccurs.
Well as I've said I aint the exhaust guy. I do know in my super trapp manual it say's to increase back presure and quite the pipe take out plates. Do the oposite for the oposite. I also know that if you cut the end off the exhaust it falls flat where opening one like Pud adds performance. You also tune a fmf my the packing. Less is more open where more is less open. Just like the plates in the trapp. I also know that there alot of guy's getting gains out of these or at least thats what they say.
If you do feel it's the exhaust, take Eric up and return it. I think it's a hasty move myself being that it's easy enough to test.
To be honest I'm confused now. I'll reread this thread to see every thing over.
One thing that I ran into after modding my buggy I changed the fuel valve. I was getting a severe lean condition. Didnt help.I had my son sit in the buggy wile I looked at the setup. The fuel line was kinking when the suspension was loaded. When the buggy was empty it was fine. Its just some thing to look at.
I have moded several Blade karts for customers and 2 crossfires. With a stock engine, first is replace the stock airbox with a UNI than open the end of the muffler. This makes the engine breath in more air and and exhaust more waste, just as if you run a mile with a paint resperator than without. Without the resperator you will perform better as well as feel not like passing out. When you increase the air imput and exhaust output you need more fuel. With all the karts I moded I never needed a jet size above a 125 on a stock engine. The carb stock from factory comes with 109 to 114 jet. I have seen as large as 116. With a stock engine you should not need any larger than a 125 jet. The plug is a perfect dark brown. Exhaust does make a differance. If you ever noticed when your pipe rots out right behind the muffler on your car and driving at say 70 mph, when you let off the gas it will pop. Just as when you remove the cat. converter from your car millege and performance will increase, but also remove the muffler and you will drop in performance. Run your kart without the muffler and you will also hear it pop. The ratio between the intake and exhaust must be balanced for optimum performance. It sounds from your origional post that you either have a vacume leak or the valves could be out of adjustment. Also keep in mind if you still have the stock CDI this could hamper your results, more fuel likes more timming. And the stock CDI has a rev limit on it. At any rate the mods you done will be mostly noticed at mid range and slightly at top range. Tuning the clutch and variator will increase the bottom torque. To see if the muffler is a factor just bring the pipe and muffler to a muffler shop and have them weld it for you. I never used a 2 stroke muffler on a 4 stroke so I would not know if it would make a differance or not. If you like give me a call and we can try to figure it out . 662-301-1563 TOM

Sorry I disappeared. Like I said, once work kicks in I'm screwed.
I just got home and I hit the board at 5 AM so I have to get to bed. I see there are several posts since my last one but I don't have time to reply. I'm falling asleep.
Eric. What did you send? I got an envelope from you. It had "Metal Parts Inside" wrote on it. Don't know if you did that or someone at the post office. It was ripped open and taped in the corner but there was nothing in there other than my invoice. If I can get a later run tomorrow I'm going to swing by the Post Office and female dog. I just want to be sure I know what was in there. As you can see, my luck sucks.

it was a 127.5 jet, I put it in a copy of the invoice from last time and I wrote that on the outside in case they run it thru a machine. I will get another one on the way in a box this time
