Well I am done with Joyner and their buggies! The transmission that was fixed for the second time crapped out on me in just 4 hours of riding.
No hill climbing, no hot rodding, no racing... just riding trails and lost gears again. This time when I drained the oil I got several teeth in the bottom of the drain pan. What cheap Chinese dirty diaper!

Bought a freak'n NEW transmission this time and installed it myself. Runs fine now and is someone elses problem.

Wish you guys well and I am sticking to quads from here on out!!! [-o<

I wonder what they're missing on that transmission? I've never heard of so many problems with a Joyner tranny. I swear sometimes a buggy is just cursed.

What I mean is John Burns got the ax from the NEW OWNERS of Team Joyner USA!

Let me make my stance on Joyner clear.
I think Team Joyner has the potential to become a name brand in the side by side market. A good product, and some very clever marketing. However, Mr Burns insisted on micro-managing every aspect of the company to the point of driving away the employees that were helping to make the company a leader. That, and as almost any former employee will tell you (and probably present employees), it is a completely miserable place to work, thanks to John, aka: Godzilla.
It doesn't matter how smart or successful you are, you need to treat your workers with a bit of respect.
If it sounds like I used to work there, it's because I did. Although I worked in the East Coast facility for the guy they sent out here to open the place up. The facility was run very well, until corporate forced their practices on us here. That is what ultimately closed us down.
With the new owners on board, it looks like they are moving in the right direction. Starting with removing entrenched management.
John should have stayed out of the day to day operations and just done research and design. Because he sucks as a manager.
All of this is just my opinion, of course.
I truely hope the Joyner name and roduct are successful. I love the machines!

It has been forever and a day since I have last visited this site, decided to catch up and basically read every thread I found interesting/important with how this site is going and was kinda curious about anything on joyner, lol...although I knew this happened at the time, I haven't been on this site in quite some time, just thought I would comment on this and just laugh...ROFL LMAO LOL HAHA!!!

I will agree, it was miserable to work there, I lost all motivation to continue to work for godzilla, one day I up and left! Haven't regretted it since!

Maybe this will help all the Joyner owners out, after hours and hours of research I found that the 2007 and older Chery engines are a clone of the ford's Britian CVH (escort) motor such as the 1.1, 1.3, 1.6 and 2.0. The great thing is that even though it was a clone of the Britian Ford CVH motor, they used 90% of the same parts as Ford U.S. CVH motor. The trannys are a VW model gear boxes with Ford bell housing. Least that is what mine is. Like the 650, 800 & 1100 are from a 1.1 to 1.3L VW golf. I have the 2006 1600 Joyner and my tranny is from a 97 VW Jetta. Now I'm not saying everything will bolt right up on the 650, 800 and 1100's you'd have to check that out yourself. But I know a friend that has a 800 Roketa and replaced transmission parts with a 1.3L VW golf. Another friend with a 2007 Joyner 1100 used gears and several other parts from a 1.3L Golf tranny. I have a 97 Jetta tranny that matches perfect to my 1600. I'm currently running a VW Jetta starter on my 1600. I bought several ford escort parts as replacement parts that fit perfect.

Just do some research or pull photos of the VW 1.3L tranny and you can compare what it looks like to what you have. Do the same on the engines. Google photo of the 1.1 or 1.3 and see if they don't look real close to what you have.

Hope this helps some of you!

I don't have a clue what's going on, I haven't called Joyner USA in a couple of weeks, and haven't tried since first seeing the post. But about a month ago I called and spoke with a parts salesman who was both knowledgeable and courteous. Received parts in a timely manner.

Joyner is the first and only manufacture that has made real strides in the USA introducing buggies into the world of offroading. They produce a line of high qualtiy products that compete with or surpass all other Chinese products and compete strongly with the Japanese vehicles.

I do not believe that Joyner is going down. Maybe they have decided to emulate the Japanese companies and make parts available only through dealers. After all, you can't call Yamaha, Honda, or Suzuki directly and order parts. And by being forced to order parts through dealers helps the dealers stay in business. Plus if a existing dealership is considering picking up a line of buggies, their decision to do so is a lot more likely if they know they can make some profit off of replacement parts instead of being undercut by the manufacture.

If we want to see buggy popularity advance, the industry must develop dealer networks. It's the only way buggies will get enough exposure to the masses, and there must be adequate service/repair facilities nationwide because most people that own dirt bikes, atv's, SxS's, and buggies don't have a clue about how to work on them, nor do they want to. They just want it to run.

Hi, i personally know two joyner dealers, one knows his stuff, does not stock any parts. The other dealer is lucky he knows what model he's selling and again does not sell any parts. I feel Team Joyner is not backing these guys the way related industry dealers do.For example i almost purchased a Honda dealer many years back. I would have had to buy so many machines and stock thousands of dollars of parts, besides having a trained Honda mechanic. Joyner opens these guys on a shoe string.Buy one machine and your a dealer, sell one machine a month and Joyner will garrentee your territory. This situation is week at best.Joyner should co-sign parts and help them every way they can.Their should be a Joyner customer service rep. available at any time to work out any problem. Most dealers are trying their best but with little help. This situation needs big overhaul,if anyone is out there from Team Joyner PLEASE RESPOND Ghost

The most recent word is that Joyner just cut their staff by over 50%. Excluding sales and management. You know that guy in parts that was so helpful? Well, he's gone along with a whole bunch of others. They have a delivery guy and the girl from finance running parts now.
My bet is that they will be belly up before too long. That sucks, 'cause I have 3 Joyners. And we think it's hard to get parts now...
On another note: I hear John Burns has started a bail bond business. Hmm...
