I found another replacement part that bolts right on!
This is kinda exciting to me as I have really been enjoying finding cheaper and easier to obtain parts for the joyner.

I found a replacement alternator that works better than stock (IMHO) and is super cheap.

The alternator from a 88 Suzuki Samurai bolts right in and is a 1 wire installation. It has an internal voltage regulator.

My Alternator (or voltage regulator) just started acting up so this was a good and free find for me as I have a box full of these alternators already.

Now these do not put out any more amps than the stock Joyners (rated for 35 amps) but just getting rid of the external voltage regulator is a real plus to me as the more Chinese wires and electronics I can remove the better I think the reliability will become.

I have 3 more of these I can sell for $20 each plus shipping if anyone needs one.

Today I installed the Sammy Alt. It was 100% bolt in, everything was the same.
I had to jump the buggy to get it started as I had wore down the battery.
After a few min ride the battery is charged up and starting no problem.

here it is installed

What he meant is it is internally regulated "it has its own" you only need one wire run to the battery it grounds through the mounts and turns on when it spins.

Replaced my flasher unit with Littlefuse brand part number flr760bp or 0flr0760xp, both numbers on the back. Sku is 0-7945894026-8. This flasher doesn't State anything about being led or variable on the packaging but seems to work great. If flashes faster than ur standard car blinkers do but not freaking out fast. Purchased part from orreillys auto. Hope this helps someone!

Dennis

I'm using the 760 flasher, but find it is flashing too quickly since it was designed for three bulbs per signal direction or higher wattage loads.

You can use a bicycle innertube.

Cut it into about a 6 inch long piece.
Glue it onto the body of the steering box
Hose clamp it to the tie rod

Done.
