The alternator I bought was not internally regulated. These sights just arnt very good at putting the right info up. Sounds like auto zone and checker dont seem to get it right either. I called and told them I wanted the heavy duty alternator for the years listed by me at the begining of this post. I didnt specify 55 amp. When I received the alternator it was a USA alternator, that said 55 amp on it. I hooked it up in place of my old one and discovered that my Voltage regulator was out also. So I Know it wasnt internally regulated. It also said on the paperwork that it required a regulator. I went to the auto parts store and ask for a Regulator for previously specified years, when I saw it it was quite different than the Joyner regulator, so instead of getting it I called Joyner and bought the Joyner regulator. thinking it would be plug and play. When it arrived it was very different than the one I had. So I called the Joyner people, and had them send me a plug to match the new regulator and cut my plug off and rewired the buggy with the new plug. This was a shock to Joyner since there records show that the 650 never changed regulators. Mine however is now working fine with these mods as listed. On the same note a buddy of mine ordered the same alternator and his bolted right in with no mods since his VR was not bad. Also on the same note, I swaped in my old alternator (even though NAPA had tested it and it was "bad") and it also works fine. So now I have both with the new one as a back up, since I was too lazy to switch them back, and I dont have any extra lights or anything so the old one is sufficiant for my needs. Unfortunatly I didnt save the box or paperwork, (it was several months ago) so there is no way for me to give you the exact part number or specs, other than what has already been transmitted. Hope all this helps. Van

OK, I looked at mine yesterday and it is a 75 amp alt...says 14 V / 75 A....I will take pictures later.
I have no idea what the oriental lettering says and it is externally regulated (bolted to the back of it)......It is not stock (bought the Joyner used) so once I figure this one out we may have even more power!!!

The part numbers do not match up between the Mitsubishi-based 650 and the Chery 800 engine you use. I do not know if the alternators will even physically fit between the two platforms.
