I understand how you feel. And I'm talking about the dog, not the engine. And if you can, try another vet. Sometimes vets aren't very good.

I wish you and your dog the best! :(

Thanks for responding it means a lot to us. Unfortunately I am out of state while all this is going on so its even more rough on the situation. Our dogs are like children to us.

Hey Chuck....

Dogs are a special animal. I have 3 Golden retrievers. There is no where on this earth that you can find such unconditional love. Not one other animal is capable of this and that is why dogs hold a special place next to us humans. All a dogs wants is to be loved and to please his master.

You don't believe it? Lock your wife and your dog in the trunk of the car and see which one is glad to see you when you let them out. That is the definition of un conditional love.

My thoughts are with you.

Glade

The hardest thing i've ever gone through in my life is losing a pet, even worse than losing my dad.
Mine had cancer 2 years ago and i spent 2 grand on vet bills and chemo even though he had only a few months. and I would do it again in a heartbeat if it happened to my other one.
If theres anything i can do just let me know.
Praying for you all...

-Rob

Chuck, brother i am so sorry to hear this. Hes a good dog and I know it. I lost my dog about 3 years ago, she had been with me her whole life. For 8 years she went everywhere I went, watched tv with me, layed at the foot of my bed. I still cry for her sometimes and thats no story. I loved her more than life itself and I never have filled that hole in my heart. I have had many dogs since but none even close to her. She was the smartest dog I had ever seen and I never showed her anything except how to love. She fought off a stray dog that came after me once in the back yard, she protected the kids like they were her own. No words will make you feel better Chuck but I love ya brother and am here for ya through it all.

Chuck,I am truly sorry to hear about your buddy.I also have little faith in people, but dogs are my life.Got my 1st dog when I was 5, a collie mix.We now have 6 dogs.My wife and I own a boarding kennel and I train also.I know your pain right now because my 2 year old Afghan has a enlarged heart, and there is nothing they can do for him.I sit here typing with tears running down my cheeks feeling your pain,And I don't care who knows.Even though I've never met you I now know you are a person who I would want as a friend.Any thing I could do please let me know.I was a Vet Tech for 11 years so I have some knowlege about dogs health. :(

Dang Chuck.... I wish there was something I could do to help. I know what you mean. I've had several dogs throughout the years, but there's always that one who's just a part of you.

The fact that you felt compelled enough to post this up here tells me (and I'm sure others) what I've known for a long time. You're a good man Chuck. You've got a wonderful and supporting family and I for one am glad that you thought enough about us to share this with us.

Good luck and god speed

Sorry Chuck. I understand what you mean by liking dogs better than people. I had to put my Dobie "Butch" down a couple years back. He was such a blast to be around, just a special creature... I rescued him from a crappy neglectful home when he was young and to this day I'm hard pressed to tell who really rescued who.... He threw a clot to his spinal cord and while he almost recovered (after months of carrying his rear end in a sling so he could do his business) he developed bladder tumors cause of all the prednisone he was on. Saying good bye to him was the hardest thing I've ever done. I've lost friends, relatives, even a parent but nothing hit me like that did.... nothing. I sobbed like a baby for two days. Even the vet cried ( he was a fan of ol' butch too). Still have his ashes where his bed used to be and his collar never leaves my truck. I thought about getting another dobie but it would be like replacing my mom. Maybe someday. Anything I can do lemme know.
