Sinister asked me to post pictures of the bends he makes with the bender that you can buy from Harbour Frieght/Princess Auto.
He does the bends with no sand and gets no kinks or flat spots.

" The first 2 pics are 1" .120 wall tube the 3rd pic is 1 3/4" hrew .120 wall. Its the left rear corner of my rock crawler buggy. The 4th is a pic of 1" Black pipe, this is 1 1/4" OD.
So here is the break down: 1" tube use the 1/2" die
1 3/4" tube use the 1 1/4" die
1 1/2" tube use the 1" die. "

Thank you to Sinister for this explanation and now I wish I didn't sell that bender

Mark

Thanx short circuit for posting the pics I still haven't figured out how to do that on this site yet. I hope this helps some other guys out that are wanting to build there own buggys I like home grown buggys myself. Never have been much for something you can buy that everyone else owns.

The sand thing is a myth. And here is why if anyone watched the video on here from "Dope customs" he says he doesn't know why the tape doesn't push off when he bends the tube. The reason why is when you bend tube your not shrinking the tube your stretching it so the sand isn't tight in the tube any longer. That is why the sand trick is a waste of time when you start to bend it is getting looser no longer pushing the inside walls out. Also he sated that he modded the die that is probbably the real reason why it worked.

You're welcome
This is the bender from Princess Auto and I believe the bender from Harbor Freight is the same.
