I just picked up a Hammerhead 150 that is stock. I want to upgrade the shocks as the stock ones are pretty weak or maybe just worn out. I see tons of blaster shocks on ebay but are they all the same size or do I need to find a specific length/year blaster shock?
Are the blaster shocks direct bolt ons or do I need to modify them or the buggy? I measured the shocks that are on the buggy now and they are approximately 13" eye to eye. I thought I saw some blaster shocks that are 14" so is that going to be a problem?

welcome to buggynews, for the rear most people try and find some that are the correct length, the rear should be around 14 inches eye to eye. some have spent thje money for some progressive shocks, they work nice

I just got some Blaster shocks for my Crossfire 150r. The length is correct for my buggy, but the width of the eye is too much for my stock mounts. I'm planning on taking a metal bandsaw and trimming about a quarter inch off of each eye to make it fit.
I think that should work. I'm new to this as well Good luck!

Thanks guys. Do you use blaster front shocks on all four corners of the buggy or do you use blaster fronts for the front of the buggy and blaster rears for the rear of the buggy?

I hear of a lot of people using the Blaster socks. When I blew the rear shocks on my buggy, I just jumped on ebay and started asking for measurements. I found a set of progressive shocks made for a Honda wheeler that were the correct length and fit my mounting tabs perfectly. I had to press the bushings out of my old shocks and put them in the new set but they were mostly a bolt on deal. Spent $35.00 and they work nice.
