They look cool John! I will go with the 2" straps instead of the 3" you got when I get them.

Yeah, the 3 inch are almost redicules. They do look cool but they are a little too wide. I think the 2 inch would be better and maybe even more comfortable.

Okay, I machined some more aluminum spacers for the TM24 carb mod. Those of you that have ordered....they should ship tomorrow. I still have to cut the throttle cables to length.

Blister, excellent, a must read for everyone / new.......I mentioned in another thread concerning a 39 tooth rear sprocket upgrade, and you responded very positive. You also made the statement that it was a pain in the I can't spell to do. Well I ordered the sprocket & chain for the (04 Talon 39 tooth) at the Honda dealer were I bought my Talon. They said they would be more than happy to install this, but no price at this time from them(might be a killer $$$$$$ amount). If me & my Son starts this ourselves, what would I be watchful of (what can go drastically wrong for me ??) You've done this a couple time(your the Pro), I've studied the Service Manual, but there's no step by step(DIY) just show's the break out. When I did the 9 gr Roller's, I printed dewmanity's full text/picture DIY and it was a walk in the park. My question to is, do I just tear into it at one end and keep removing stuff untill I get it off, or is there an exact process to get the axle off . And ya, a (2) piece sprocket would be great, you would be done in a jiff. Any advice would be appreciated.

Sproket Replacement:

1. Loosen chain tensioner all the way.
2. Remove Rear tire (driver's side)
3. Remove Hub cover, cotter pin and castle nut. (Salvage Cotter pin)
4. Remove rear axle hub.
5. Remove axle housing and bearing base. (all one unit/3 flange bolts)
6. Remove chain from rear sprocket.
7. Slide alxe off frame.
8. Remove 4 flange bolts that hold sprocket onto axle.
9. Slide Sprocket off.
10. Mount new sprocket and re-assemble in reverse order.

The only way you have to take the whole axle off is if the crossbar that protects your sprocket and disc brake is bent and in the way, then you won't be able to slide the sprocket off. But even removing the whole axle is pretty easy I think on the Talons.

Ok everyone, I want to thank you ,...but this 57 year old man is totally confused. I went over to check a few things on her Buggy and laid down and measured the rear sprocket*little over 8 inches, I was shocked, I was expecting a 32 tooth rear spocket. What a supprise I got when I counted 3 time's 39 teeth. I gotta cancel my order tomorrow for the sprocket/chain, all the reading on the 2005 DLX Talon had me at 32 tooth. In my post about how great it did this past weekend at the ATV Club, climbing stopping and just pulling out on a very rocky steep hill was great, now I no why, it has the correct mountain climbing 39 tooth sprocket and 9 gram upgrade. This suits me fine, no tear down, now I'll put the money in some tire's like TalonMan put on for some extra ground clearance. I just made 2 A-ARM skid plates and will mount this week> great protection(I'll take some pictures when done).

Wow.. You got me.... Mabey the DLX had 39 the entire time, and the other 2005's models had a 32?
