Well.... I got some time to work on the buggies today.
Had to take the carb out of the 150r and put it in the 150. Couldn't get the 150's carb to run right after taking it apart and cleaning it out. So after checking the ground, making sure we were getting spark, and everything else we just ganked the carb from the other one and went with it. I had to "prime" the carb with a little wd-40, but it now starts perfectly and runs good.
I also picked up a new brake line. $65 for a 42" braided line and 2 connecting ends. We got the line in place and the new master cylinder installed. However, we're having a hard time getting good pressure. It's definately not enough to engage the caliper. I need to get a couple of rubber gaskets for the fittings, other than that I'm not sure if the caliper is bad or my master cylinder (off of a Suzuki quad) just doesn't have enough power. We'll just need more time to find out whats going on.
We didn't have enough time to look at the 150r. I got the gas tank drained and removed the petcock to use in the 150. That should make it easier to upgrade to the bigger gas line. We also got all of the mud cleaned off of the engine so we don't get dirt all over the internals once we crack it open.
The thing that's killing me now is that I won't get to work on it until next Saturday. I've been contemplating trailoring it home and then parking my car outside so I can work on it here at home.

Had a couple of hours to work on the buggies today. I got the brakes working (stuck caliper piston) and the drivers seat put in. Took it (150) out for a 15 minute ride. Runs great. It's a bit louder than the 150r. That may be due to a heavily rusted exhaust pipe, I'm sure there are a few holes in there. But the acceleration and throttle response is nice. I did notice that under WOT I was not getting the missing and fluctuation when at top speed as I did the 150r.
Anyway, it looks like the 150R is really going to get a good facelift this winter. Besides engine rebuilding/modding I'm going to have to put in new seats and harness. I'm going to see if there is any way to build a seat that fits a bit better. Or if there is enough room for fiberglass buggy seats.

The 150cc buggies are gravity fed with either a manual or vacuum operated petcock. I think only the Carter GTR series has a fuel pump in the 250/300 class.
