Hi, just bought my first buggy. got it from expressatv and its a kinroad sahara 250. I finished assembly today and tried to start it up. Starter motor runs but no ignition. Called the dealer and they tried their best to help but no luck. I checked the spark plug and I get spark. Fuel just seems not flowing into the carb. This thing is giving me a headache but atleast one of the chinese tech at expressatv gave me a good laugh. He was telling me to "szchokit" one of the air vacumm tubes so I can see the gas flowing out of the filter. I thought he meant "shock it". he just kept saying szchokit szchokit szchokit. Took him six tries before I figure out that he wanted me to "suck it" got a good laugh for a while. II need help. Before I got this buggy the most mechanical thing I did to a motor was change the spark plugs so pardon my stupidity.

is your gas turned on?? I had the same prob with my joyner 250 after I cleaned the carb and put new fuel lines and filter on. I took my air hose from my compressor and blew into the gas cap to build preasure up (not too much) and the fuel came out and filled my filter up and all the fuel lines, my buggy started right up. your buggy just needs primed to get the gas flowing..

welcome to buggynews. yours should have a vacumn operate dfuel valve on the bottom of the fuel tank. the top hose goes to the carb, the bottom goes to a TEE fitting that splits off, one goes to the intake manifold, the other goes to the throttle cable side of the carb

if you take off the bottom hose and suck on it it will open the diaphram in the fuel valve and let fuel flow. an easier way is to remove the top hose and spin the enine over, if they are hooked up right fuel should start flowing

If you are not getting fuel I would suspect that the hoses are hooked up wrong. On the petcock the top hose bib is fuel and the bottom is the vacuum. The vaccum comes from the intake to the "y" connector. At the connector vacuum should go the the bottom of the petcock and to the top of the carb.

just talked to the rep. at Kinroad. he thinks I have either connected the tubes wrong or it has a dirty carb. Mike is sending me files over email to make sure I have the connections right. Lets hope that the fault is in my inexperience, because I really don't want to deal with returning this 600lb buggy. Oh, thanks so much for all your good help. I didn't think I would get help so quickly here. You guys are great. thanks much. Soon as I get the pic.files from kinroad, I will recheck and repost how its going. thanks.

Funnyman brought up a good point. Several of these buggies come with the fuel filter on backwards. The "cap end" should be on the carb side.

Eric also has a good point. The 2 lines from the fuel valve could be switched.
Don't worry, It is most likely something very simple.

I got mine at expressatvs too. And it didn't want to start. Once I did get it started after a lot of cranking, it didn't want to continue to run. I had to adjust the idle speed, and its been fine ever since. My suggestion is to give it partial throttle and hold the throttle in that position while cranking. Don't crank too, too long or you'll cook the starter. Crank it for maybe 20 or 30 seconds, let it sit for a minute or two, then crank again. Repeat until it starts. Like I said, mine didn't want to start and I was feeling ripped off thinking I got a lemon, but it was just an idle adjustment. Now it starts at the touch of the key. Good luck!

well, I got it started and it runs. After two days of talking to tech support members and ripping my hairs out, I almost had tears in my eyes. lol. I actually got help from a neighbor who has an atv. He looked at it and felt through the carb and thought the connection between the carb and the engine was loose, very loose. the factory didn't tighten the screw enough to make a good seal. When I press the gas too much air was going into it, he said. After I tightened the screws the engine started right up and when I pressed the gas, behold, had more power without the engine stopping. Yes, you guys were right. It was as simple as turning a single screw. One little issue if you could call it that. Engine starts fine now but if I press the gas too fast the engine stops. I have to gently press the peddle with a tapping motion to keep it going. Any ideas as to possible casue and fix?

Let this be a lesson to you. When you buy a new buggy from the internet, you should go over every single nut and bolt. personally, I remove ever nut and bolt and apply red loctite.
