I think there should be markers to insure the dude in the left lane, peels off to the left, and the dude in the right lane, to the right, at the finish line. We dont want the youngons to do any high speed criss-crossing right after the cones at the finish line.

To be safe, we would need to take their ability away to make a bad decission.

Absolutely! We will learn from this one and incorporate it in future rally's.
We're really lucky no one important got hurt!
Charlie and I put up caution tape at the entrance of a hill that led into the back of his truck just in case someone decided to jump us!
You really can't be too careful when there's that many people in one area and it doesn't help when some of them are drinking!

Not sure if anyone on this forum has thought of this, but if the kids buggy that got hit is beyond repair and the blind drunk that hit him won’t pay to get it fixed maybe we should all pitch in $10-$50 bucks or what ever to help him get a new one. With all of the people on this forum it would take many to help out.

Just my 2 cents.

It’s just heart breaking that thier buugy was only a couple days old. And thank god know one got hurt. When I think how many times my son went out by him self for a drive it just makes you wonder what if that was my kid.

I think that is a great idea. First, however, we need to find out who it was. So far he is a mystery man. I don't think he is a member of BuggyNews.

Pretty scary to think about it isn't it? Could have been my son.

I remember there were other buggy riders there last year as well that weren't part of the group. I was surprised that they didn't approach us, so I approached them. :)

Well, hopefully the dad isn't totally sour on buggies now, and comes to seek us out here. If anything, I'd be glad it was a buggy not a kids quad. That could have been really bad.

He is a lurker here on buggynews, but has not joined yet. He came specifically for the rally.

He was wanting to ride/purchase my buggy after the accident, I am not sure his wife will let the kids back in any buggy "ever", the way he was talking.

You can see the two kids sitting in my buggy during the group photo, since they no longer had a buggy to sit in  ,

I did not get his info, and do not know how to contact him.

Chris

This guy would have had to sign in at the concession stand - they might still have his information, name, address, phone #, etc.
Maybe Kenny or Keith (kyridgerunner & tuskenjedi) that live close by can check in with Paddy's and see.

I don't understand if this guy is sour on buggies now - he should only be sour on drunk quad riders!

Tim
