Had our Scouting trip today and Roush creek Road course looks to be a great place to have a Rally! About 5 minutes into our ride we reached a dead end. I was in the lead and ventured into a large circular area to turn around (At about 25mph!) and hit about a 5" layer of "Fly ash" (Baby powder type dust!) I think Tony was behind me when we hit it and Boy let me tell you!!!! Dust clouds so thick, it clogged up my filter and killed the engine! Randy came to my rescue and towed me back in his Rocketta monster! I cleaned out the carb and filter and we were on our way again!!
The road course hasn't been uses for races in 2 years and it shows but there's still plenty of elements there to make it a blast.
In the video (Soon to be here),
You can see the terrain changes quickly depending on the angle of the road. We did not stick to the course the whole time as we were really trying to figure exactly where the course was! :-) There's lots of "off" trails that wind and intersect with the main ine. The best thing is, it appears that all the trails (If they don't dead end!) bring you back to where you started! :-)
I need to go back and mark the trails and I'll also put up "Bump" signs to alert when your on a quick stretch that abruptly ends in rocky terrain!
For now though, here's a video of the course!.....
I'm sure Tony, Randy or Jim will also add some of theirs as well! :-)

What a long ride home! It seemed to take twice as long as the ride there. Had a great time there at the rausch creek riding area. Tom, Jim and Tony and of course the kids were all great. I had about 5 pounds of black/grey dust all over me. The shower looked pretty gross  I have about 32 minutes of video in its raw form it is 503MB I need to chop and cut so it is a downloadable size for most to view.

Yes Tom thought that it would be fun to create a dust storm and tony followed. It looked like dust from the bottom of a fireplace, and didn't taste any better either! No problem on the tow any time!! When the rally is under way we will let Ryan be the offical tow guy with his Manco :) Just alittle humor there Ryan.. All kidding aside Ryan since the Ranger and any ATV's are not going to be permitted are you going to bring the manco?

Everyones buggies did great I was impressed with the 150s they went everywhere. I was actually worried that my 800cc kart was going to be a problem in some of those trails but low and behold I managed to go everywhere as well. The 250cc twister really gets up and goes on those trails and handles the rocks and bumps alot better than I would have figured.

I will post some video of the ride. I think the best way will be several small videos and maybe a decent sized one for constant video we will see.

For now here is a pic of the twister being brought back for some carb cleaning.

You took one picture and it had to be of me getting towed!!!
I thought I warned everyone that I didn't want to see a camera pointed in my direction during all that!!! :-)
Funny! :-)
Should have got one of me taking the whole thing apart to clean it out too!! It would have looked like it was left on the side of the road and I was stripping it down for parts!! :-)
Can't wait to see your video!

I have an arial pic of the course.

no picture's.. forgot the camera  ......Heather talked about the 800cc Buggy all the way home & even after we got home. She could actually write a review on all the Buggies after a day riding (so cute). Yes we both had a great day out riding, she said PaP, I like this place is better than Tower City. What a bunch of great guy's & their children to spend a day with..
Tom tried his very best to get Quad's/ATV's permitted!,..but the Insurance didn't give the OK. =D> Well at least if any breakdown's occur, there is no problen getting to them with our truck's/SUV's(no problem).

The thing I like the most about this property is that we have it all to ourselves! (except for some of the locals who sneak in!).
We can ride from 7am to 12 midnight!!! We can do doughnuts in the fields, make new trails and explore, whatever!
I didn't see too many "Hill climb" opportunities and any jumps that might be on the course are for cars doing 70mph! Our buggies just can't go fast enough to get air. I'm sure though, that we can find those things there, just have to go off the beaten paths!
The area is and will be, overgrown so there will be a little work to prepare your campsites if you camp on site.
There's a really nice campground not 10 minutes away that some could camp at if they wanted.

well have to fix those jumps when we get there

with the right angle and trajectery, the velocity of the buggy should ascend of the jump.
