Howdy all, started off the weekend good..then caught the jinx bug on the 100. Apparently high speed+narrow trails+fat arse buggys+narrow trails= broken tie rods.......go figure . Everyone was on top of it before i could really react. The guys/gals in the group really went to it and had the wheel secured w/in a few minutes. Now came the hard part,as we were a few miles in and a few miles from the end of the trail.Did I mention how narrow the trail was? Chuck climbed into the driver seat as he was the lightest and Vinny (Cruise Control) began to torque the buggy around the twists and turns. Jody(Digger) also threw down some leverage.just for the record, our buggy is 67" wide and 750+ lbs.To make a really long story short we all made it out together and safe. I'd like to thank y'all from the bottom of my heart. It was a real testiment to what this community is capable of and willing to do for one another.
It was very nice to meet y'all face to face and share in all the expieriences this weekend.Had too much fun.
Thanks to Jody for the weld to get us up a movin' for Sundays rides too.
Thanks again, Jon

And a special thank you to Motion and Kruse, who helped get my beast(kitten) up the first major hill on the 100 trail after I smoked my clutch. We had to take an alternate route and they followed us to help out w/ the tight squeezes and the second big hill. Thanks guys, Jon

yep, the raccoons and squirrels got into the hot dog and buger buns we left out, then they had desert on the honey buns and pecan rolls. we did our part on feeding the wild life
They really like the sweets. Last year the raccoon ate all of our cinamon rolls the 1st night. We learned a good lesson. Eric and Ray had an enclosed EZUP. That's the way to go...

Charger would not run more then 1/4 throttle until I rejetted down a *huge* amount - turns out I had smoked the rings and the oil blow by was messing up the mixture. And I arrived on Tuesday, and broke on Wednesday.
Trees took out 2 mud flaps on the Carbide.
I ran into the back of my kids (in the Carbide) after they jumped a dune, nosed in and stopped dead, I was following too close and broke off 2 of the 3 lights on the front of my Charger.
I blew out my exhaust DB Dawg and lost it.
I popped a front tire on the last ride of the last day, after most everyone else had packed up and left (out on trail 300 - far, far away).
The Carbide lost a front wheel rubber dust cap.
We bent the steering (or jumped teeth in the rack) of both the Carbide and the Charger.
Both the Charger and the Carbide are smoking, like the rings are bad.
The Carbide needs some clutch attention.
...and I'm fine with all of it.
We never got towed off the trails at least, so there.

I bet you and the boys loved every minute of it. So, are you up for a trip next year?

...and another quick thing.... all the people we're really great and I can't wait for something like this again. I've probably got months of work to do fixing the buggies though - mostly because of a limited budget...
One of my high points was when we went out riding with Eric and Ray and had an "everything-that-wasn't-a-main-trail" run that I will now compare all future rides to as a high point of fun.
The next morning we tried to do that again and added John - it was a another great run, and they we're *super* helpful in getting us up the hills (or fixing the "my-son-got-the-buggy-sideways-half-way-up-the-again" issues). He's learning fast though, thanks for all your patience guys.
