Raptoraz's Sand Devil comes up as 703 lbs using this method.

His Xterro comes in at about 510 or so.

So, a little difference there, but not that bad between those brands.

The newer Xterros do have some changes that may have added weight.

This may be a dumb question and please don't think I trying to be a smart alec either..but what is the purpose of weighing the buggies? Are you trying to find the lightest weight to hp ratio or is this simply something you were just curious about? I didn't see the reason mentioned anywhere on this thread on I was just wondering in case it might effect our buggies too.

Thanks,
Keith

Complete curiousity. Also, my 250 is not as fast as my 150 and I was attributing that to the weight difference.

If I were Blister and my 150 was faster than my 250, I'd be looking for answers too.

You would expect that the difference in cc and hp would overcome the weight. You would expect your 250 to kick your 150's butt unless the 250 is much larger. It's only 185lbs heavier.

I'm not talking anyones's buggy down here. Just stand back and of course you would say that dang 250 (mine included) had better beat that 150. It just seems kind of strange especially since your 150 can beat my 250 too. I'd think that 11or 12 hp compared to 19 or so on the 250 would mean they'd be at least even with the 250 stock..

I for one am glad you are looking for answers and I find it all interesting.

That makes sense. I would wonder the same thing too! The 250 should be quite a bit faster, otherwise what's the point of spending the extra money for a 250 if a 150 will get the speed and power you want.

Thanks,
Keith

Yep. And the 150 is a ton more agile than the 250. Which I think is a huge thing. The suspension is better on the 250, however, it's size is a bit cumbersome. The 150 is more like a racecar and the 250 is more like a.....I don't know.....just not a racecar.

I've been thinking about a 250 for me and the wife to ride, but if the 250 isn't drastically better than the 150 I think we'll just get another 150. I am really impressed with the 150 we got our son for Christmas. It's fast, will climb pretty good and is very agile like you said. I like to be able to whip through the trails and hills with ease and getting the rear end to spin around quickly helps make some of the sharp turns that we have on some trails around here a lot easier.
