Just wanted to throw out a Kudos to Blister for posting this thread. I'm currently researching buggies at this time and this post provided alot of helpful information!

where are you at in Southern Illinois?
if you want to test that puppy out then let me know, we'll head over to Turkey Bay or Paddy's, or even the Little Egypt off road place if they are still open.
Bring it on! I'm 5 mi. north of Salem. Where are thoes places? I may have to strap on an extra fuel can to get there! LOL . BTW has anyone ever heard of Williams ATV Park in Saline Co. Illinois?
IF this thread lasts long enough I will be able to give you weights for the Costco Baja, 2007 HH250ss and Blade 110 after the 10th.
I have a set of racing scales and have cornerweighted alot of cars. I look forward to scaling these buggies.
The one thing that I'm REALLY curious about is what these buggies weigh WITH driver. Whenever we cornerweigh race cars we do so with the tires set at what they would be at hot race pressure, with the driver and gear in the seat, a half a tank of gas and the swaybars unhooked. Corner weights can change pretty dramatically with the driver in the seat. I'm sure it is even more dramatic with regards to a buggy. I would love to see data on how the loads are spread out amoungst the four wheels with driver in the seat. This kind of information could be really helpful in determination of suspension set up and ultimately ride quality (which I'm hoping to improve.)
I'm at SEMA trying to get sponsorship for one of our events but I'll swing by the shock and spring guys and see if they have any ideas.
Ultimately it would be better to have the ability to change ride heights without sacraficing suspension travel. It may be that there is such a weight differential with driver in the cart that different spring rate and shock damping are needed from one side to the other. I would love to have an aftermarket company take this one on and provide alternate setups to play with. These spring rates are set for the max carrying loads I think but it is my guess that most of us ride solo most of the time. Alot of the motocross bike guys choose spring rate based upon rider weight. I would love the flexibility to make adjustments for my weight and riding preferences.
Can we get weights of buggy with driver and then without driver?

My FX550 project (my heavily modded Honda FL250) which has a XT 550 motorcycle engine in it, Lights, a new stronger cage with sidebars added, 25 liter gastank, a few smaller things that went with motor (such as gear shifter and clutch)
Weight reduction mods: Fiberglass seatpan, Removed fenders, no heatsheild (doesnt need it anymore), light weight airbox, CVT removed (runs with short chain and sprocket now)
