Hi Gang,

I havent posted in a long time, have since bought a other buggy.I use to have a 150cc Sand Spider,a great buggy btw.Since then bought a other machine.

Please dont kill me,but its a SunL 650B-2.Its seems very well built and pretty powerfull. But I am have a carb issue, hope someone can help me.What it is doing,it has a low speed lug,its like it running out of fuel.I can pull the choke out some and it goes away, but it makes it diffifult to shift.Ive checked the float level. Also check the ai/fuel adjustment, its 2 and 1/4 out.

It idles great, and at speed it does great. Its just when Im trying to go slow,is where it wants to act up.From what I can tell and see,its looks like the same engine and transmission as a Joyner 650 Commando.

Thanks,
Michael

It could be a clogged a pilot or needle jet if it is a fuel problem. I could also be valves out of adjustment - Check your valve lash.

Thanks pghruby,

Whats the setting on for the lash on the valves.
The pilot jet,do you mean the main jet? Ive been thinking that could be the problem as well.Thought about drilling it out slightly, thinking it may slightly richen the mixture.

Also, how do you remove the sparkplugs in this engine.Ive tryed a 13/16 spocket wrench on it,but it doesnt seem to fit between the head.I didnt get a tool kit with the machine.

Here's the link to valve adjustment:

You need a thin walled socket or box spanner to get those spark plugs out.

The pilot jet affects idle, needle jet affects midrange and the main jet affects the top half of throttle application. Each of these fuel circuits in the carburetor have their own jet. Until you get a spark plug reading, I would not modify the jets.

Thanks again,

Will look around and see if I can find a box spanner.I messed with it alittle bit earlyer. The way the engine and transmission is placed in this machine makes it a little difficult to work on.

The engine mounted under the seats. The transmission and transfer case is under the cargo box.Im still trying to figer out the 2wd and 4wd lever. It has three postions on it.All the way up,and middle and lowest postion. With it all the way down, its acts like a limited slip.

Also Ive added a which.its rated a 3,000 pounds.hopefully thats enuff pull.Its also has a wireless remote.
