Yes I have pics of both. I'll put then in my GTR thread, but we ran into a few issues over the weekend that I'll also get into as well. But it might be a minute, really busy and tired.

I didn't know these GTR 250s had a 4 valve head

I'm about to start some serious googling, but is there any chance that this head (and/or cylinder) can be cobbled into a cn250? [-o<

I believe I found one pic Devils Den sent me in PM's when I bought his head and it has both heads.

Good to hear. GTR's are getting hard to find, parts even harder to non existent. I believe once people work on something themselves, they tend to take care of it better. Hope everything comes together for you.

I can't say much, I still haven't adjusted my valves or retuned the carb.
Do you know where he ordered his gasket?

hey. thank you for the head it looks great, would look better on the engine but been waiting for gaskets. shipper was taking his sweet time.

i was getting my parts from ebay and fox power sports. from ebay they are gaskets for a tgb 250 and from fox for a can-am ds 250. getting anything from carter's website is way over priced. but from these sites i can get any part for the engine, which is a relief

I'm glad the head arrived in good condition.
If you don't mind me asking, what did you pay for your head gasket?

yup you wrapped that head good, you could have thrown it off a building and it still would have been fine. lol

$15 for the head gasket.

Lmao. I didn't want to give the U.S.postal service another chance at damaging a head. I even spent the extra money to insure it for $500 hoping they would be more careful.
$15 is a good price,I paid $20 each for both of my 250 head gaskets. I'll just throw them in the parts box. You never know, I might get something later that night need them. Or maybe I'll sell them on eBay and use that money towards a 300 head gasket, which by the I've finally found. Took me forever though and lots of research.
Reusing a head gasket just makes me very nervous.

okay so THE BEAST LIVES

"Thanks in part to Devils Den and Evilws6"

so what was done. well from the beginning you saw that the engine pretty much exploded. engine was stripped and cleaned, changed out crank and balance shaft bearings. new cylinder, piston, rings, a working head (From Evil) and all new gaskets on engine. had to rebuild cv axel, boots where torn and full of dirt. (this was the messiest and no fun at all). need a new break cylinder, right break line and new breaks. one of the tires need to be repaired for holes and rotten valve. finally to electrical, engine shut off button frozen, rewired aftermarket key switch( was installed incorrectly), wired radiator fan to key switch and also new cdi( from Devils Den). from there was tightening bolts and adjusting gear shifter. lucky i have a compression tester and did a compression test before running and notice it was low. i re-visited the timing chain and came to the conclusion it was one tooth off. after re-setting the timing button everything up and BAM started easily.

it still needs a few more things to make it ready for the trails but it is running smooth. next will be to add pz30 carb with uni and led lights. so much hard work went into it; when i was done and heard it running smooth i went to go take a nap.

Congrats I knew you would bring that thing back from the dead ! I always say wrenching is 70% of the fun for me at least :)

Let me know when you ready for mods once you wipe that smile off your face from its 1st run.

That's great news! I'm glad to see your up and running. We too, were off one tooth during our head swap.
They're pretty nice buggies, I think you're going to like the GTR.
