As I have said many times before I don't know very much about Chinese buggys. From what I understand most 150cc use the gy6 scooter type engine,am I right? So what type of engine does the 250cc class use?Which besides power is better? What about Carters Brothers new type of engine, does anybody know much about these? mancoman

Carter's new engine is probably the best in the industry. It sure has the best warranty. It's made by SYM and is ceramic-lined. It's got great torque and power. We have the 300 and there are several guys on here that have the 250. Not one single complaint from anyone I know of about any engine related issues. You'll pay a premium for that engie, but the piece of mind was worth it for me.

For all the issues that all of these buggies have, there are and have been only a handful of complaints about the engines.

The 2-bolt head GY6 is the ONLY engine that I've heard that has had issues, but only from a MOD standpoint.

The engines CARTER uses are just as good if not better than most.

I am interested in a 3rd buggy if they are still available. My old man could use one.

1. Remove exhaust nuts off head
2. Remove exhaust at hanger
3. Remove CVT cover
4. With impact wrench remove variator (forward pulley)
5. Clean CVT cavity and pulleys of belt debris
6. Reassemble back half of variator with rollers oriented center to outside
7. Loop new belt over clutch (rearward pulley) and forward shaft
8. Attach variator fan pulley half and reassemble

Gocartacus is selling a pretty heavily modified one with low hours. Check the classifieds. Yes, I am baiting you to buy a GTR.

That particular dealer was a Canadian dealer. Don't know what was going on, but their website hasn't been updated in ages. Maybe they were going out of business.
