Just bought 2 GTR 250's and what a piece of junk! One of them lasted 1 hour before the electrical system when out and the other 1 day before a fender fell off and pet rooster broke spilling 3 gallons of gas all over my track.. Service through dealer was good (sportstime) but Carter brother were terrible and didn't even seem to care that in this economy I had spent $8000 on their product. Needless to say after 2 weeks and neither cart working the dealer took them back. I would NEVER recommend Carter Brothers (and the company has a plant in my state!!) Even the parent company did not care. They won't be around for long. Thank you for outsoursing parts manufacturing to China... [-X

you said the electrical system went out? what happened? was it a fuse , a relay, switch? what part of the fender broke? the fuel valve is on the bottom of the tank which is firmly mounted be hind the seat. did it just come loose, fuel line come of, did it just break? hard to see it just breaking unless it was tightened to much.

the dealers have to put these together and have to put some hours on them and fill out a pre delivery check sheet and send it to carter. I have sold 9 of the gtrs 250 and 300. I have been a carter dealer for awhile and have owned carters since 2005. I haven't seen your types of problems. they are warranty issues and the dealer could have repaired them at no cost. sounds to me it was more of dealer set up problem if he took them back.

In answer to your questions--regarding the electrical sysem of the carter bro 250, both a switch and fuse went out. when these were repaired it was also noted the the tachometer was now not working (something that the other 250 had wrong on the 1st day). The lights weren't working also on the other one which was found later to be faulty wiring). The gas valve during the first and only hour of working in going around a flat track spilling gas. This was also the buggy that the fender just fell off breaking at the welded joint Also going aroung a flat track... I don't think this was a dealer issue as they were also calling down to Carter Bro. with little to no customer service. Because they were having such a bad time , I called down to the plant myself and spoke personally with both the customer service rep. , as well as the parts manager. The parts manager was unbeliveably rude and told me that I needed to take this up with the deler. When I informed him that they were also having problems, he really didn't seem to care. Of the approx. 3 weeks that I owned both buggies, I had them for a day working....1 for only an hour. Everytime that the dealer would fix a problem with the buggies , something else would break during their test drive. This dealer has been in business for a long time and was getting fed up with the run around by Carter Bros, and thats when he gave my money back. So again I say.. DON'T BUY CARTER BRO 250s... I can't personally speak about the other products. I've owned goKarts and dune buggies for years. In fact I bought 2 karts from Sam's of all places 4 years ago and they are still running great and we have beat up those karts (jumping them between hills) I was just looking for something faster and more fun, but all I got was alot of wasted time. I am now looking at the 2 of the BMS power buggy 300's.. Are these reliable?? or is something better?

I have had a couple of small issues that I took care of before I sold any of the 250 or 300 carters. I have had a couple of speedo's that didn't work but got replacements from carter in two days. and 1 that the start relay went out on. but I took care of all those issues way before any customer looked at them.

I don't put any buggy on the show room unless I have run it through to make sure they are truly ready. that's why all mine have at least 15 hours showing on the speedo. I don't know about yours or your dealer. but when I call over to carter I don't have any trouble getting the stuff I need and I don't get any attitude from any one.

Maybe its just me but carter has been taking really good care of me and my customers.

as far as the bms buggy goes it has 1 wheel pull rear, heavier than others and some have had some serious electrical issues. now if you want a rude person some of the people from bms that call me every 2 months wanting me to sell their stuff are very rude when I say NO THANKS.

there are good and bad buggies from every manufacturer, some have alot more issues than what you have experienced
