Newbie here and I have the maxxam 150. Here a while back my belt broke and after I replaced it I took a drive around the yard with the cvt cover off and the muffler off. After I parked it and put everything back on. I cannot get it to start without shooting some carb cleaner in it. I pulled the choke out of the housing and plugged the top to create suction and it will fire up and then die. I replaced the choke and same prob. I cleaned the carb re-assembled and still same thing. Does anyone know what the problem could be. Daughter is going crazy wanting to ride.
I dont see how this would be the problem. If I leave the choke body on the carb and pull the choke itself out, I can put my thumb over the top or stuff a piece of rubber over the top. It creats suction and pumps fuel through the choke and it will start, but it dies soon after. I just dont think it is getting fuel. I may be wrong.
Ok guys I think I may have found the problem. I seen on someones post on another thread they said to spray starting fluid around intake while trying to start. Well I did and bang it fired up. I pulled the intake and have a big gash right in front of where the clamp sits. I tried to patch it up with some silicone to see if its gonna work before I order new piece. Does this sound like it could be the problem?
Not the problem. I doctored it and no more leak there. Still no fuel to start. Bowl is full. its flowing from the tank fine. Just wont start. took bowl off and cleaned jets again. The slow jet was a little clogged at first but cleaned it out. Any body know?

intaks leaks are hard to seal like that i went throw 4 of the rubber intakes.2 of them i just drowned the whole intake and nuts with plastic dip it would last a while and start leaking again.if it has a split like that might be best to get a new one.
also back to the valves they recommend to adjust them quarterly,ever three months.if you have never adjusted them probably wouldn't hurt.they are almost imposible to get started if they are out of adjustment.

Funnyman. Yes if I spray cleaner through the carb it fires up everytime. Then runs out. I have taken both jets out and cleaned them. I can blow through them. Is there anywhere past the jets that could be clogged or maybe something to do with the vaccum that could be clogged?
If you are positive that your intake is not leaking(did the intake test,carb cleaner around the intake while turning it over or running)make sure that the passages are clean .Spray cleaner thru all the passages and make sure it comes out.Thru the main and pilot
