recently purchased a 110 cc china atv for my daughter, it came with a remote which is used to start the atv by pushing a button on the remote. There is also a starter button on the handlebar but it doesnt work to start the atv. Is there anyway to override the remote and get the button on the handlebar to be used to start the atv.

Did you check to the see if the wiring for the handlebar starter is hooked up correctly? Maybe they forgot to plug it in?

The starter switch should apply a ground to the solenoid, so on one side of the switch should be ground and the other side will be 12VDC from the solenoid.

we had one in the shop that was doing the same thing. there was a black wire under the front nose that was not hooked up. hooked it up and it was fine.

check all the wires coming from the switch, make sure that the kill button is on, if it has a kill button just above the starter button make sure its in the run postion.

check the wires on the remote box, they can come loose. the might be a pinched wire in the handle bar switch also

I would check the switch with a meter to see if the contacts are working. If the ATV is new, you may be able to get a warranty replacement switch assembly.

If the switch checks out fine, you will need to follow the wire loom to the starter solenoid or remote control box to find your problem. if all the wiring and connections check out, the remote control box is probably not passing the signal properly and will have to be replaced or bypassed.

OK guys I really appreciate your time and once again without this site and the members my kids machines would probably be sitting broken collecting dust. I did get it to work i pulled the handlebar switch to check the wires which were all connected but when i put the switch back together the switch was working.

glad you got it working, it probably has a loose connection in the switch. there is a spring and a ball behind the start button that cannot make a good connection sometimes.
