Has anyone ever had to replace or fix their clutch master cylinder located behind the clutch pedal? A few months ago when I took it for a spin I started to notice that it was shifting like normal, sometimes it did not want to shift or go into gear. Then a little while later the clutch pedal started getting soft a nd lost its stiffness. After looking around I realized that the clutch fluid was empty and it appeared to leak out of the master cyclinder around the plunger where the pedal presses the rod into the clutch master cyclinder. Anyway I thought I would fill it back up and bleed the line and everything would be fine but I cannot get the pedal to stiffen up or build pressure in the line. Do you think the master cyclinder is shot? The buggy only has a little over 200 miles on it.

Also, the clutch lever on the transmission is pretty hard to pull by hand. Does anyone think that there was too much pressure from the clutch springs that ended up blowing the master cyclinder seal thus causing the initial problem? Does anyone suggest a different part from the autoparts store versus getting a BMS 800 replacement for $80.00? I do not want to buy something cheap that will needs to be fixed again in the future.

All suggestions welcomed.

Hi, i would take of the clutch cylinder the line and the slave cylinder, take to the auto parts store ,see if you can't match it up with something. Look at suz. samari, older toyota pickup, those type of vehicles. Good luck Ghost

If it is leaking you need a new one. I have had good luck with AB Power Sports and they have one for 69.99 not a bad price.
