I bought my 5 year old a Blade 70cc for his birthday on June 8th. Well last week he was able to crack the frame. I am new to go karting and do not know if this is common. I am taking it back to the dealer this week so see my options. Is this sort of thing common?
My son has a Blade 50 which is the same chassis. He has had it for over a year and has yet to break a weld. I consider this particular Blade kart bullet proof. He has ridden the heck out of the kart and the only thing I have had to fix is the steering column. They spot welded the column together and the weld broke. I put a better weld on it and haven't had a problem since. Most likely, the crate was dropped or something in shipping and fractured a weld. See what your dealer can do for you. If he doesn't want to help, do not hesitate to call Blade direct at 888-44BLADE.
Thanks for the replies, the break actually occured about an inch or two away from a weld, in the middle of the bar. If it was just a weld I would not be as concerned.

Whatever the cause is, or whever the Break is, it is not something that should happen to a BLADE!!!!!!!!!!!! I am truly sorry for any inconvienience, and we will take care of the problem right away I assure you!
We just came back from the Buggy Rally in KY, and I am sure many will tell you, these little Buggies will take a beating. My sons bolts rattled a bit loos.. and was a funny vision for sure, but a break in a short period... Not acceptable. Bring it to you local dealer and we will take care of the issue. Most likely we will just need to bolt on a new swing arm.

Let it be known that when you buy a Blade product you are NOT just buying a Buggy- but the Blade reputation- which as you can see Stu stands behind fully.
Not many other dealers/distributors I know that would personally respond to you so quickly with solutions.
Good Job Stu! and congratulations dgriff3466 for purchasing a Blade!

dgriff3466, Just got back last night from the rally and found this post. A cracked frame is not common at all and we're here to help. We're all unpacked now so bring your kart by the shop this week and we'll take a good look at it. Don't worry, We'll get you back up and running in no time! Can't have your boy sitting around just looking at his Kart!
I certainly meant no offense to you or any Blade dealer by mentioning it was maybe dropped in shipping. I know you and I know you will take care of your customers. A broken frame is certainly unusual. This guy Sac1 has complained before about his kart. His kart is at Lake Norman Extreme Toys and as far as I know, Lake Norman is no longer affiliated with Blade Powersports. He is trying to trash the Blade reputation and most people know better. It sounds like there is more to dgriff's story also. I guess I just give people too much credit for being honest.

Thanks guys, sorry for being "whiny" I'm a little sensitive because I have seen what one person can do to a buggy company on this site and not everyone knows me or my reputation for honest dealings. I'm not accusing anyone of anything, just trying to paint the big picture. I'd be selling the dune 150 (Sorry Pep boys)or some other "lesser" buggy if I didn't care. Blade is one of the best in customer satisfaction and I would never do anything to change that. It's why I chose to sell them over several other brands. We are part of the "Blade Family" and we act accordingly!

No offense taken Blister, honest people think honestly. I would always go that route first regardless of how many times we get burned on it. We need to hold people accountable for their actions, be it dealer or customer. If we did it any other way, we would be part of the problem and not the solution.
