The joyner 1100cc is much nicer than the BMS. I compared the two almost side by side. However it is quite a bit more expensive, so if you can get the right deal on the bms (roketa) it was still avery nice buggy. You also might look at buying a Joyner used. There are quite a few available over hear in AZ, not sure what the case is in Cali.
Yeah, the price of the Joyner was the issue. I looked at a few used ones, they were not well maintained. So, I got disappointed and bought something new that I can break in-and break-on my own.

I have to begin by giving the highest praise to Joe J. @ Desert Toys/Outlet Motorsports. He met me and showed me different buggies which we drove at their perspective wherehouses. After I made my decision(BMS 1100), he assembled it quickly and gave me a smokin deal. I have to mention that I have purchased enough Chinese motorsports to know what to expect and what to look for. There are always issues that need to be attended to to have your machine bulletproof and to be somewhat problem free. Joe was quick to help me with defective parts or any problems that came up. He even drove some parts out to my house!!! That is customer service. Now, with one more small detail to take care of, this buggy will be able to rock. If you live in southern California, do yourself a favor and deal directly with Joe. Can't say enough about him. Onto the difference between Joyners and BMS. I do believe the Joyner probably has higher quality. But it is heavier also. It is also Chinese. The main difference is the Joyner is Prepped and all the little issues with Chinese quality are attended to before they reach the consumer. They are ready to roll straight out of the showroom. But if you are handy with a wrench, and have a brain cell or two, you can dial in a BMS as well and save yourself the extra $$. I know there are other differences and people have their preferences, but I believe I'll have as much fun with my buggy as someone else w/ a Joyner. And I'll keep the extra $$$ to boot! [/i]

You've got the right attitude and should have lots of fun & new memories with your buggy. What's always disappointing is to see someone who buys a buggy totally "cold"--knowing nothing about it--and then discovers these issues. Even if they're cheap, simple fixes the initial shock & disappointment can forever ruin your attitude towards your purchase.
I wish BN could reach more people before they make their purchase.
