I'm not a plumber but has anyone thought about using pvc pipe instead if you can getsame inside diameter. Reason being on a hot day the pvc would not heat soak like the drain pipe would. Basically the hot seat belt scenario on a hot day. This would help keep the air charge cooler and more dense which should give you more power on hot days. Every little bit of power helps right?

i just installed a uni air filter to my maxxam 150 today. i used a 1-1/4 straight pipe and a 45deg elbow. about $20 for the whole setup. good thing is it is light enough i may not have to worry about tying it off. i'll keep an eye on it.

I like the upswept for the airfilter. It probably will keep some of the chain lube off the filter. You really should tie it off though. When you're driving it through bumpy terrain, not having the air intake tied fast may be putting stress on your intake manifold. You might develop a premature crack there.

The Redneck intake I have was made in BIGE's shop. Its got a tab welded on it to bolt directly (with a rubber grommet) to the mounting tab for the stock air box. It removes all the stress from the carb intake manifold, and works like a Redneck Dream
