I got my springs from www.pitstopusa.com

It is a racing website for cars, but they sell custom springs at all different sizes, rates, diameters!!! They arent too bad in prices either!

Good luck!!

So the front shocks are Arctic Cat DS650s? What are they off of? I tried eBay and got nothing under DS650. Several Arctic Cat shocks but don't know what ones will work. What was wrong with the stock spring on the Arctic Cats?

How about you rear Blaster shocks? I have a set but they will not fit in the brackets of my Crossfire. Did you grind them down or something?

I know it is a deep read, but most of this thread explains your questions...

The Blaster shocks need the bushings to be ground flush with the shock eye, and you need to "tweak" your mounts a tiny bit with some channel locks or vice grips! lol...

The fronts are Arctic Cat ZR800 shocks... They are 18.5-19.5 inches long I believe... the springs are too soft, though, hence the need for 150# springs from Pitstop...

Good luck!!! i have a crossfire 150R in need of a transplant soon, I love these buggies!!!!!

I read the whole thread twice in the last 2 days.

I don't remember seeing ZR800. Is that the shock number, atv, sled, or side by side?

I think it was page 2 you called it a DS650. I couldn't find anything on that.

I do apologize!!! I believe the mention of which shocks I got and the DS650s other members use are in a different thread!!!

The DS650s are a tad longer than the ZR800 shocks... ZR800 is the model sled... DS650 i believe is a model also... Guy48065 was a HUGE influence on my project DOOM, and is a fantastic mind to tap for suspension info!!! he ahs experimented to the Nth degree and then some!!!!

Good luck!!!!

I believe the ds650 is a suzuki shock I believe. When you look at the pics of the shocks you should be able to tell. Theres a long and short version. After a few looks it will easier to tell between the 2

DS650 is an ATV made by Bombardier. The Sportsman uses struts in the front.

Now might be a good time to upgrade your shocks. :D

lol...thanks.....

TH, Mark and I have pm'ed eachother back a forth a couple times now, and I am almost positive I am getting the AC's DS650s... IF you can get them real cheap in a week or so, PLEASE let me know!!!! I am looking at two pairs on ebay right now that seem to fit the bill, and I can buy bigger springs to get a stiffer ride if those AC's are too soft. We'll see how it goes... I am pulling the wheels and arms tomorrow, and I am goig to weld the stock to the arms and beef those up.... PLUS, I gotta find bigger or better ball joints!!! ANybody know where those are??? lol...I know tomberlin sells them, but I havent gotten a reply from email yet... anyone get them from there??

I just wanna get the buggy ready for the June meet!!!!!

Cant wait!!!

John

LOL. No it was page 2. LOL.

Thanks. I found the shocks for a ZR800. Now that I know what to look for, I can.
