As many of yall kmow,Ive been troubleshooting my 650cc UTV(it appears the same engine as the Joyner 650).Ive been talking to a car mech, that comes into the place where I work some.He mentioned it may be something to do with the engine vaccum. The vaccum line going to the brake booster is pretty strong.
How much vaccum, should there be going to dist, for the advance.Ive removed the line,at the intake tap,it didnt feel like there was any there. While I had it off, pulled a small vaccum on the hose, useing a turkey favor injector(crude I know, but it worked),could hear a change in the engine at idle.
Also noticed that the dist, was all the way forward.so I set it in middle,it seemed to help a little.in the that low speed lug,Im trying to get rid of.To better understand the lug,its like its running out of fuel.If I mash on the throttle,it does great.

I found advancing the timing to the stop increased idle rpm, but it reduced my torque and made starting harder. I ended up retarding my timing back in order to spin my paddles in loose sand (stock engine). Have others had the same experience?
