The gear box on these is part of the engine, the most common engine out there in the cn250 which only has the single speed. To get the 2 speed trans, you have to buy a buggy with the cf moto 250 which has the 2 speed trans. There are two or three kinds out there that have the cf moto, but the only one I can remember is the joyner. Maybe someone can help him with the others.
Currently Blade, Hammerhead and Joyner use the CFMoto 250 engine with dual range CVT. The Hammerhead is better on tight trails the Joyner is better on open areas with its suspension. I have not seen or ridden a Blade to give you an opinion.
I don't think there are even any Blade dealers on the west coast.

James by all means go get your self a Rhino, but until then try to stay on point when someone is looking for "good" advice.[/quote]
He asked for some thing comparable to a Fl250.The rhino was MY OPINION to what was close to one.Price was not even asked.I had a Fl250 in my younger days and no 150cc or 250cc with mods could compare.I did not say I wanted one.I have drove one and for my terrain it smoked the Buggy's Performance. As for the price I agree. This was my advice given in a open forum for simple discussion. Thanks James
.....I don't think anyone was bashing your suggestion....we were all just giving our opinions also. Hopefull I did not step on your toes....If I did....I apoligize

i'm glad to jtramsejr. you just can't beat one around here 2 wheel, 4 wheel, high ,low range and locking differential.they will really take you places and alot of guys put them to the test.
i never really thought about it before what vanet said but i agree with him, i don't know that country out there. but i sure would hate to buy one and not do what i expected of it.that would be hard on the pocket.

Wow, thanks for all the responses guys. I really didn't expect this much. I really appreciate all the feedback, I'm going to sell my two odysseys and see how much cash I have to throw at a new buggy after that. Thanks guys, I'll continue to research and let yall know what I decide on.

I also want to wish you luck, and add one more thing. Here at least there are alot of used buggies on the market, and from what ive seen other places you have to wait a little, but they still come around. That having been said I would look for a used Joyner. Most people on here will admit that the Joyner is one of the best built buggies out there, but they are way overpriced. The answer is to buy used. I have recently seen a 650 Joyner SS which will blow your 250l out of the water for less than 3k on craiglist. I have bought my last three buggies used and you will be surprized how many people buy these things with the intention of rideing them and then ride them four or five times and then sit them in the garage. Geek and pfruby have also bought used Joyners recently and can testify that a good used Joyner for half or less than new is a hard deal to beat.
