Most of the 1000s are based on 800 frames, so the 1000 is just a motor upgrade, I have two 1000s and can testify they are alot more powerful than an 800. The 800 with the turbo is about the same as a tuned 1000 with a good exhaust and high flow air cleaner. However the turbo for a 1000 is the same price as the 800, so in the end you have alot more potential. One thing to keep in mind is the 1000 comes either injected or carburated, the injected has more power, but the parts are very hard to find, and they cant really be tuned by most people. The carb version gives you alot more potential for tuning and upgrades so go carb if you can. The above applies for 800s as well.

Suspention travel is definantly better on the 800, and with aftermaket shocks it is a real mini sand car.
My turboed 800 will run off and leave my fl350 , but a stock 800 wouldent keep up with the oddy.
Like I said before if you not at least a shade tree mechanic dont buy Chinese.

I agree with this 100% buying a China buggy can be a good deal for the money just don't expect it to be plug and play if that is what you are looking for buy a Polaris or Yamaha or other name brand UTV and skip the buggy. I would not expect a 20 year old FL 350 to be plug and play so much any more also maybe when they were new but age has a way of taking away the reliability.

I used to agree with this whole heartedly, but now that I have had alot more experiance with different buggies I have to say that Joyners are as much plug and play as the japanese stuff is. Now before you all get all outraged, I am not talking upgrades and such, all buggies are going to benefit from upgrades, and I am not saying Joyners are problem free, they do have issues occasionally, but so does yamaha, or suzuki. If you want a buggy and you are not mechanical, buy a Joyner. You may have to do a few things but nothing like a roketa or sunl and parts or help are just a phone call away. Some of the other buggies, espesially the more rare ones parts and service are non existant.

I agree with the parts delema on Roketas.
It's like pullin teeth to get parts from the factory, UNLESS you live around the California wearhouse and can walk in there front door.
It's funny how easy it is and how friendly they are if your looking them in the eye!!

I have never had an issue for parts but also haven't had to deal with them as much. As with everything else the more vehicles sold the more parts will be needed. Hense supply and demand come into effect. Loads of Joyners sold, loads less of simular buggys.

not too worried about having to work on it. you're right the 20yr old fl does require a little tlc in between rides, it's enjoyable to work on though.

with the 800 chassis is it a simple shock swap for increased performance, in other words is the geometry done correctly from the start. suspension performance is more important to me than power, i plan on upgrading the suspension immediately if the stock coilovers are dirty diaper. would love to see one of these in person but there doesn't seem to be to many local dealers.

i've found the 800 for under 5k delivered, seans sr2 would be 7500 delivered. is his car worth the extra money. i believe he makes some changes to his cars compared to the "drop shippers". opinions?
