After looking at everything else first I finally checked compression- 0psi. I took valve cover off and timing chain was broken. This gokart has only 2-3 hrs of hard surface hours on it so I would have never guessed anything like this. I want to get in touch with Kinroad to see if they will warranty it. BigE do you have a phone number to Kinroads warranty dept? Has anyone dealt with Kinroads warranty? I didn't even get warranty info. Remember I bought this from GOKARTUSA and they have been unresponsive to me like they have everyone else.

I talked to Michael about 20-30 minutes ago. it looks good, but we need to know if anything else is wrong. the cam chainsd are tough little boogers and if there is a problem with them or something causing it to break we would like to know

are there any small pieces laying around? cam lobes look good, chain tensioner in the down position.

any dealers on here would do the same thing. thats what sets us apart from the rest

Thanks BIGE! I can't believe how you go the extra mile with customer service. I wish I would have done a little research on dealers reputations and peoples opinions of the dealers that they bought from, I would have avoided them like the plague. My frustration started going from GOKARTUSA to Kinroad. That is not fair since it is just 1 part and no one is perfect. I hope they know what you do for them as far as customer service for them.
I can't see anything out of place in there. There is a bolt? pushing down on the upper chain gaurd. I think that looks like a chain tensioner. I don't have any clue what a cam lobe is. As you can see from my earlier posts and this one my mechanical knowledge is limited, so this timing chain will have to be done by someone else. If there is a Kinroad prefered dealer or mechanic in the St. Louis MO area they want me to take it to I will. If they want to just send me the part I will find a mechanic. I will contact you through your website for my contact info.

The closest dealer I can reccomend is Travis in IN. Although he doesn't deal in Kinroads, he would fix it correctly. Tom in MS is next choice. Look at trusted dealer list for resources. You may be able to bribe a forum member with food drink to help you too...

Yah.....he needs to move out WEST. We could use a few more like him around in this neck of the woods.

There are quite a few BuggyNews members that ride at St. Joe State Park. If your not too far away from any of them they may be willing to help you out for a little food and a drink... If I was in the area I'd go help, but I don't have any business trips scheduled for that way... I know someone is close by that can help, I just can't think of who it is right now.

BIGE is staying on or near the East Coast. We claimed him off waivers years ago and now he's a franchise player.
