I have a 2008 650 Sand Spider with a turbo kit from Unleashed, I replaced my fuel pump a couple days ago with a Holley Blue (thanks Vanet) that is now much quieter. I do have a question on the best setup for the fuel filter. In one set of instructions it asks for duel filters, run in parallel and in another set of instructions it shows a screen-only filter before the pump and higher quality fuel filters after the pump but before the FMU. I have made a setup that will run dual filters in parallel, but should I run this inline before the pump or after it? Holley also suggests that the pump be placed below the lowest point of the gas tank so that a siphon can be made vs. having the pump suck the gas out of the tank. With the position of the pump on the Sand Spider, it is about in a mid-position with the tank. How big of a deal is this on the pump? I have the FMU set to 5PSI so I am thinking that the pump should not have a problem doing a little more work sucking the fuel out of the tank and through the filters, am I right on this?

Thanks in advance for any help - Scott

Not sure why but just short of it going bad mine also made loads of noise. Here is my new setup from Holley with two filters, a pre metal and a post glass filter with replaceable screens. Works well so for.

What is the part number of the fuel pump that you have and where did you purchase it? I need to replace mine and I would like to go with a more durable model.

Thanks,
Vincent

I have read that a (Bosch 0 580 254 910 Inline Fuel Pump) will work.

...and costs about the same as a stock pump.

There is not really a part number - just a Holley "Blue" fuel pump. Picked it up at local Checker Auto Parts; about $150.
