From everything you described, it sounds like an internal problem within the carb. With the amount of time you have spent with this problem, it may be easier at this point to buy a new carb and get it running again.
OK, lets say I take your advise. Do I go with a 32 pumper and add new variables into the equation or back with a stock carb and see if that corrects the problem?

You have eliminated fuel delivery from the tank as the problem and the carb is correctly connected. I see no reason why you could not upgrade at this point to resolve your problem plus increase performance.
My wife didn't need to here that!! I going to check the vent tube you mentioned first, but a mandantory upgrade, I mean repair , (my opinion, not my wife's) may be in the near future.
