I bought a 2 1/4 gal. aluminum fuel cell for my buggy, but haven't installed it yet, so can't tell you how it works. Got it on ebay from www.coyote-gear.com
They have a bunch of sizes and options that might work for you. They sell on ebay and direct.

Thanks for the help. After I posted this I remembered the fuel cell. Let me know how it works out. I think the main reason for my trouble is that the tank is too wide and doesn't have any baffles.
