Full Size Tires on Joyner Sandviper (800cc-above)

by JRMinLA » Sat Apr 15, 2017 1:37 pm

Hey Buggy News. I'm in the market for new tires for my 2009 Joyner 800 Sandviper

27x8-12 (Front)
27x11-12 (Rear)

I gotten quotes from dealers. No one sells 27x8-12 so I have to do 27x9-12.

I been looking at the Tusk Terrabite Radial Tires from Rockymtatv ($428)
27x9-12 and 27x11-12 (all Four)

Someone told I should consider running all the same STI Chicane RX Tires
26x10-12

What size and kind of tires everyone running?

If you're looking at street tread, the 4/115mm pattern was used on some Honda cars. With the popularity of UTV's there are also more 14" and 15" rim offerings than in the past. This will open your choices to automotive tires as well as OHV. Auto tires will be heavier but will wear better and cost less.

Don't discredit A/T tires either...I'm running 245/70R16's.

My wheels are from a Suzuki Aerio I think. My friend is running stamped steelies from a Kia Spectra.

I ended up getting the tusk tires and love the look. Check out the photo.

So bummed that my axle nut snapped only driving it 20 miles on the new tires :(
