RMB,I believe there will be at least 3 of us going(maybe more)in May to do a scouting trip for THE best places to have said events. For $10.00 to a charity of your choice (IN THE NAME OF STEVE HOPKINS) we will send you pictures,and you can decide the times for such events Yes there are some really cool places,ovals,straights,and hills. However we will be looking for again.....THE BEST PLACES.

Jabo, I am glad to hear about Sue and the kids! Do you happen to know where he went to school???? We could donate the money to to some lucky student as a scholorship fund (if we make enough) Unless someone can think of a really good cause!

I have been posting on the other Bash site...I posted a map with certain area's marked off for events. I will be happy to meet up with Wetsu in May to help scout the area. I have been there several times and "kind of know my way around"

There is plenty of room and area to do pretty much what ever we want. There is a staging area at the entrance to the day trippers...that has a swimming lake, picknic tables, restrooms and changing rooms and......a bulletin board

I would be willing to help organize something, just let me know what is needed. We should probably swith the organization topic back to the buggy bash thread and keep this one for the donation topic.

With what is happening with the economy/gas prices groceries,etc. does anyone still want to consider a fund raising event for our fallen founder Steve Hopkins??????? I have made a few attempts to contact the unniversity of Rhode Island to see about setting up a scholorship fund in Steve's name with no luck. But with the way things are turning out, I am becoming concerned! Just say the word and it is burgers and dogs (might be chihuahua) but I will grill for for the cause!!!!! Kidding about the chihuahua's!

I can look into what's required to setup the scholarship fund. I've got some good contacts for this and other than the Hopkins family I'm probably closer to URI than anyone else.

One more thing.. my daughter may attend the school next year. However, not the School of Pharmacy.

How did the scouting trip turn out Wetsu? Have'nt
heard anything yet, just wondering.

TH, thanks! Eggy,trip was a no go ! For me the funds just weren't available to make 3 trips there. However,there are enough people (BBG,Hoodlum,Laymansm,and a few others) have been there enough to pick some outstanding spots!
