I am building a Shredder (with some minor mods). Engine is 6.5HP @3600, to which will be attached a TAV2 with a 10 tooth sprocket. Rear tires will be 18" on a 1' live axle.

What tooth count should I be looking at in a drive sprocket?

All help greatly appreciated!

If it helps, the low ratio for the TAV2 torque convertor is 2.7:1, and the high ratio is 0.9:1; I just don't know what I should be looking at for a final ratio at the low end........

So I am thinking a 54 tooth sprocket (10 on the TAV2)

Comments?

This is the place that I ordered the plans from:

http://www.ubuilditplans.com/NEWUBUILDITPHOTOS.html

There are some pictures there.

I am making some modifications to the plan, such as using a steering rack rather than the chain system they use, and my tires are slightly smaller than what they spec'd. Also, the design calls for a torque convertor with jackshaft setup, but it is designed for up to 18 or 20 hp. I am using the TAV2, which is both simpler mechanically and cheaper.

Should look pretty much the same when done, though.

Sorry, it is the Comet Torq-A-Vertor, which is an all-in-one, and good up to 8hp so it is plenty for my 6.5hp
