I believe a fair amount of us have this buggy, so I was wondering if you could tell us how and where it broke? I have noticed that when placing the buggy into gear that it needs to be done carefully, as if the gear is not meshing correctly, it will not want to go into gear, so the buggy has to be moved a little manually, or the person has to give it a little gas and than release to see if it will go in without much effort. It kind of reminds me of placing a manual car into first gear prior to reverse, as the reverse task works without grinding the gears when this is done. In real cars this has to do with the synchros, or lack of in certain gears, but I don't believe these buggies have a synchro for the forward reverse action.

it broke right where it screws into the gear on the shifter.I had sprayed the thing with lube to make it operate smoother and well it got the dirt and sand pushed to the bottom and it broke when i was sitting still. Stopped completely. when i pushed it went snap and i went oh boy. I was stuck in reverse on top of a 40 ft tall hill. So always carry leatherman with you because u pull the pin and boom goes right to forward and home you go lol

Did you get a picture to post this weekend?

alustiza - that is a good comparison. I always have to "baby" mine into gear but that is one of the very few complaints I have about this buggy.

Babying the thing into gear is the way to go to avoid any problems that I have heard some people have had. It's a very small issue that can be lived with, as long as a person realizes this. No stretched cables.
