Don't forget the picks! also tack some reading of before and after. speed, temp, rpm, etc.

I thought you where going with a draw through system? If so you dont need a blow off valve. The purpose of a blow off valve is too release extra pressure from the turbo when you let of the gas and the carb shuts quickly not allowing the boost you have generated to go into the cylinder. with a draw through system the boost is already behind the carb, so closeing the carb dosnt build pressure like in a blow through system. That is one of the main reasons for going with the draw through, is less parts. Including the blow off valve.

So my question is, how exactly does the turbo work?

You have the right idea. The turbo blows pressurised air into the cylinder. With a carburated motor the air passing through the carb causes a change in pressure which flows more fuel, as long as the carb has big enough jet to allow the flow.

ok guys small update, all issues have been solved and day one we got everything but the exhaust done, the most labor intensive part has been fabbing up all the flanges that dont come with the turbo, for carb mount, oil drain, exhaust in and out ect ect , we had to make all these by hand, other then that its going right along and should be all but finished tonight, two days to fab. mock up and finish a turbo set up isnt bad huh? any way here is a small video on where we ended last night.

looks nice, i like that.
i have a question though do you think you will have any problem down the road with the 2 small 6mm bolts going into head in intake riser.
looks like that would be a little heavy,up higher like that and vibration to.
just a question and wondering

we arent relying on just those two bolts to support every thing , the turbo is actually braced threw the much larger exhaust housing bolts to the frame of the buggy.
here is another update from today. tomorrow i start tuning it.
i hit 6 psi on a small test drive :)

That is awesome. Great work there.

Do you have any noticeable throttle response lag with the draw through set up? I'm wondering if the added length of the intake track and the mixture having to go through the turbine causes any issues.

You have the exact turbo I have - non existent flanges and all, lol - I've been fabbing my own over the past couple of days too. I was a little worried about the 150cc engine being able to spin it fast enough but your 6psi is very encouraging. What RPM were you at?

Looks like it is coming right along. Be careful how high you go on the boost with out some high octane gas. Doesnt take a whole lot of pre ig to spoil an engine. How much power did you have at 6lbs? My 650 turns into a whole different beast at around 6lbs, and then really starts to get serious at aroud 8lbs. Keep up the good work. Van
