First post :)

Just got offered a complete engine with all wiring and cooling system from a yamaha R1 for about 200 bucks, bought it, and it looks spankin new. Picked it up today :)

Just need something to use it for, and i want a two seater buggy. but i'm worried about the gearbox and clutch when its put on a heavy buggy chassis. Will it survive?
Dont know wich chassis to use either, dont have much money. Looked at this http://www.asiascooter.com/html-en/china-214-Buggy-chassis.htm

Any opinions?

I personally think the Joyner 650 Sand spider is about the perfect size and weight for an r1 upgrade, but they are pricey. I think I would spend the money for a good donor. Other wise all that time and labor will be for nothing if you get it together and the frame wont hold the power.

Thanks for the replies!

Now you know where joyners come from, and now i know where the asiascooter buggies go :)

Will try to buy a chassis off the factory, if that dont work i'll have to think of something else.

Looked at the piranha buggies that edge in australia makes, they are expensive, but made for this purpouse. Bought the blueprints to study.

But how much weight will my gearbox and clutch handle?

There is a company making full size rails that put the R1 or the Hyabusa in them and they weigh close to 1500lbs. So any buggy you find will work if it is strong enough. Van
