Hello all. New to mini-buggies and to the forum. I recently bought a 07 hammerhead gt 150cc from a guy on ebay for my son who has leukemia. The guy said it was just serviced, had a new belt, and new battery and that its starts up and runs great. I paid 1100 for it and when I got it delivered to my house the thing wouldn't start. I finally got it to start after several attempts and battery charging, but the thing just wont go. When I give it gas it bogs down and stalls. When I do get it going it only goes like 3 miles an hour! I have no mechanical skills at all and do not know what to do about fixing it or what the problem even is. It seems to run fine in reverse, but not forward. Any Ideas?

Thanks

Well you need to start with cleaning the carb. If it does fine in Rev you might have a roller stuck in the variator.

mine was the same way when i got it.

i put both water/fuel conditioner, figuring the tank had water/moisture from sitting..

Drained the gas that was in the tank when i bought it, no knowing how old that gas was.

and gumout in for every tank for the 1st month.

I went from needing ether to start to it firing rightup.

Go over all the nuts and bolts..make sure they are tight...as many of mine were loose...

Thanks for all the tips and ideas guys. I cleaned out the carb the best I can and used some gumout mixed with the fuel and it no longer stalls. It starts right up and seems to run fine, however, the cart only goes about 10 miles per hour max. I know it goes faster than that. Any other suggestions?

Thanks

jack up the back and spin the rear tires by hand. if they turn freeley then the parking vrake is ok, if not it needs adjusting. also check the belt and make sure its not stuck in the pulley and check the rollers in the variator

I have a yerf-dog 150 cc and the hammerhead revs no where near what the yerf does.

Then it's probly in the fuel area. Those jets got some little holes on the side. Make sure those are clean. You could have an intake leak. Does it pop or anything or just not rev?
