I had one on the highway last week. The speedo showed 50mph and that was winding the motor pretty tight. It still had a little more but I didn't want to push it any harder. They will run through the gears fairly quickly. By the way the gears seem spaced a little too far apart. 1st to 2nd is OK, but with each gear change it seems like they get further apart. This may be due to the engine being designed for a much lighter quad. This isn't a sore spot by any means, It is just something you'll notice mainly on tight trails and hills.

I don't know about long term durability of the fender mounts. But, I snagged the same fender on the same tree twice now. The fender ended up about 10" from where it's supposed to be. Both times I just bent the bracket back to position. This is one of the front fenders. And yes that tree is a short timer!

I'm not sure if this is the answer you were looking for. It is a manual shift with automatic clutch. Just like most utility quads, you do have to shift gears manually but the clutch is automatic. you simply let off the gas and move the shift lever either forward for a higher gear or rearward to select the next lower gear. It has taken some getting used to to continue moving the lever forward to go up through the gears. I seem to always want to pull back when hitting second just like a truck.
I have found one sore spot so far on this buggy. The gas cap is dirty diaper. When going over rough ground gas will jar out through the key slot. And the cap doesn't screw on it just presses on and has locking tabs. Also the location of the filler neck is a pain to fill the tank from a gas can. I have ordered a couple gas cap relocate kits from Dan's performance parts. This kit has a filler neck and cap. I am going to place a piece of hose from the tank to the new neck and mount it in between the two rear roll bars. Hopefully this will cure both?
I finally got to ride again yesterday. Me and my son rode one while my brother-in-law and nephew rode the other. This trip tested the machines pretty good. We rode pretty hard and climbed a hill I would have thought they wouldn't make it up. I have the rear tires down to 4lbs now and that has improved traction a great deal. The ride on rough ground is a little too bouncy to me, like the shocks are too stiff. They are set to the middle position and resetting them may be the fix? And no I didn't take the camera. One of these days I'll get into the habit of taking it with me. I will be posting some pictures of a windshield and splash gards I've made for them.
